Pelosi lays out aggressive agenda to combat Trump administration
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says she plans to lead an aggressive opposition against President-elect Donald Trump and a GOP-controlled Congress, naming jobs, veterans and Medicare as the top priorities. But first, Pelosi, who is being challenged for her leadership position by Rep. Tim Ryan of Ohio, is making an attempt to quell disenchantment within the…

I like what she is saying, but I want to see it followed up by some action. I have barely heard her say anything in the past few years. She needs to get her face out their and lead. I am constantly hearing Ryan’s name in the news, now I want to hear hers.
dogsRgoodpeople November 22nd, 2016 at 21:31
There’s only this one guy from Ohio challenging her . I haven’t heard him say anything really special other than new leadership is necessary.
Buford2k11 November 22nd, 2016 at 21:56
well, there are good arguments for both sides…Pelosi, has experience, networking, money, and strength of will…I have watched her work, and she is tough…New leadership is a good argument, but maybe just not here….the DNC is a mess, the DCCC is in turmoil…those are the organizations where we really need some kind of leadership change…but when it comes to the congress, I trust Nancy….

That is what ticks me off about the Democrats. They don’t sell anything properly. Even PO should have been talking more about what he was doing and what he did. If you look at the Sunday morning listings, they are mostly always GOTP. I’m hoping Schumer does a better job talking up the party and I agree with you, Pelosi should be on the air doing so too.
Budda November 23rd, 2016 at 07:07
You’re correct about the Sunday Morning shows like “Meet the Republicans”. I blame the media as much as the Democrats for not having a bigger presences on those “shows”.
mistlesuede November 23rd, 2016 at 10:22
That’s right. I believe they are invited on the corporate right wing shows aren’t they? I’m not sure if they are even able to request to be on. Do you know?
Suzanne McFly November 23rd, 2016 at 07:09
The silence drives me up the wall. The right is always out speaking about some message and 99% of the time, I don’t agree with their message but the politicians on the left don’t have a reply so the right wing message is the only one out there.
mistlesuede November 23rd, 2016 at 10:31
Exactly. It looks like we all have the same frustrations. The corporate right wing media does not want to have the alternative message from the Dems by giving them a platform either. If they are in control of the invitations on shows and the Democrats don’t get the invites, perhaps that explains it?
Suzanne McFly November 23rd, 2016 at 15:49
Well I love Rachel Maddow and Lawerence O’Donnell, they often speak to issues the Democrats support. We just need more people fighting as hard for our side as the rwnj’s have on there’s.
mistlesuede November 23rd, 2016 at 23:18
Also Chris Hayes and Joy Reid. We have only four people who actually do the job the way it’s supposed to be done.
Happy Thanksgiving Suzanne.

Happy Thanksgiving Mistle!!
I have you have a good time with your family and friends.
mistlesuede November 24th, 2016 at 00:02
Mittens! Leave it to you to find red mittens. It’s good to see you.
I know you are going through a lot. I hope the holiday gives you some comfort just being with your family, and breaking your diet. ;)
I’m looking forward to that wonderful smell in the house tomorrow. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/d698a50aa998488945b11a9a3b87fd9790c1d0f5d00c1aca771980ce10469856.jpg
Mittens keep your hands warm November 24th, 2016 at 00:11
I know we disagree about the color red, and I understand perfectly your reasons.
But, red is sort of ME in a very organic way. Lol.
Good to see you too Mistle! I’ve missed reading your comments. The diet is on hold for tomorrow. But I’m pretty happy with it so far, I’ve lost 20 lbs already! Hopefully, I won’t gain it all back in one day.
The smells of the holidays really are so evocative of so many pleasant memories.
mistlesuede November 24th, 2016 at 00:45
Don’t forget I had a Mitt plant this summer in our gardens! Guess what? Part of it is still alive but it’s stuck in the garage. All the red flowers are gone. The pink ivy geranium is still budding along with that purple stuff that was in it that I have no idea what it is. I guess I’m going to have to part with it along with my coral geranium basket that is doing just as well. :)
Is red associated with being an Italian Stallion or something?
Twenty pounds! Wow! That is awesome. You have really stuck with it. I found about five of the ones you lost, dammit. You might not gain anything tomorrow except water weight. Have a smaller amount of everything and you’ll be fine. I’m really happy for you. Losing weight is hard especially since we aren’t spring chickens anymore. Are your wife or SIL having good luck on the program also?
Definitely the smells bring back happy memories. And I have a very good nose so I relate smells to things in the past much more than many people do. I still can smell things from when I was pregnant that made me nauseous and I am offended by them. Well, that’s not a pleasant memory. :)
Mister Atoz November 24th, 2016 at 00:50
I’m pretty sure that pink is Mitt’s color. ;-)
Mittens keep your hands warm November 24th, 2016 at 01:10
Who doesn’t like pink?
Mister Atoz November 24th, 2016 at 01:11
Alpha males?
Mittens keep your hands warm November 24th, 2016 at 01:16
So pink is your favorite color then? Am I correct? ;-)

Do carry on… gobble gobble !!

Mister Atoz November 24th, 2016 at 01:27
It all depends on who’s wearing it.
That’s all I could come up with.
Mittens keep your hands warm November 24th, 2016 at 01:30
That’s very true.
To be fair, I didn’t give you much to go with.
Mister Atoz November 24th, 2016 at 01:34
Actually, you had pretty much shut me down with that one.

Muad’dib Paul? Who could not possibly spell that right? Unless of course, never read Dune. LOL.
Mister Atoz November 24th, 2016 at 17:19
I watched the game. Well, that was heartbreaker. I’m losing count of how many games I watch where the team I’m rooting for loses in the last two minutes of regulation play or worse, in overtime.
msdangermousse November 24th, 2016 at 18:05
What can I say? It was a heart-breaker. But at least it wasn’t GB.
Too bad that there aren’t refs or umps in politics.

I know that I will be. A day without blogging is like a day without sunshine. Hillary 2020!

Just swinging by to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving, MD. I really am thankful for running into you all those years ago. It is a fantastic thing to be able to debate and chat w/ someone who has completely different political/economic views, which normally leads to bad blood on anonymous boards, and still get along like best buds.
I truly do appreciate it, and just wanted to say a big “thanks”, MD. Hope you and yours have a great day today:)
Mister Atoz November 24th, 2016 at 16:48
Thank you, RTS, and I sincerely return the sentiment. Do you know that it’s probably been about 5 years or so now? How does that even seem possible? Here’s to hoping for many more!

Yes, here’s to many more. Gonna have a SHITTON to talk about for the next 4 years. Lol.

Thanks for that. He and I used to debate on HuffPo years ago. Really a good guy and I’m certainly better off for having known him.
Hope you have a great Thanksgiving too:)
Mittens keep your hands warm November 24th, 2016 at 01:05
I remember the Mitt plant! Can’t beleive it is still alive, but we Mitts are tenacious.
Every red blooded Italian male is entitled to the delusion that they are a stallion! But for me, red is just a color that I have liked for as long as I can remember. Everything looks better in red. Lol, It is a bit odd, I know.
This diet has been relatively easy for me. I’m actually quite surprised myself at how quickly the weight came off. My wife has lost a fair bit too. But she still wants to,lose another 6 pounds or so. My sister in law has not really been too serious about the diet. But even so, she lost a few pounds so far. Overall, it has been working for us all.
For,the longest time my wife could not eat many of the foods that made her nauseous while she was pregnant. It seems that is a very common reaction. But you really have cemented a bad association with some of those smells. That’s interesting really, that you have such a strong sensory memory. Mine is no where near that strong.
mistlesuede November 24th, 2016 at 01:37
You are tenacious, but I am very gentle and caring of things. These plants do not want to say goodbye to me. ;)
Your love for red is not odd at all. Just like me and my blue, or actually all colors besides red!
Your SIL was the one that needed to follow it the most carefully because of her health. I hope it at least as helped her enough to have made a difference in her numbers? To think you all managed to stay on the diet with the stress you’ve had is admirable. Stress is what usually knocks people off of their good intentions.
I remember smells from childhood at times. Smells from our first home. Smells of this one when it was new. Today when I was showering I smelled a really nice men’s cologne smell. That kind of freaked me out actually. The other day when it was cold out and we were walking, I smelled spring in the air! I can’t even look at pepper cheese. My husband had it in our fridge and it made me sick back when I was preggers. LOL! Now who is odd?
Mittens keep your hands warm November 24th, 2016 at 01:46
I think the diet has helped a little bit for my SIL. It probably could help a lot more, if she would get more serious about it. We try and encourage her, and also set a good example. But she is not used to denying herself anything as far as food or drink goes. Plus, keeping track of the food, is something she has convinced herself is too hard. But, the diet has taught her to make some better choices in food, and in how she eats at home. So, it has not been a completely useless exercise for her.
I’m more of a bored eater, not a stress eater. Same for my wife. When we are stressed or busy, we often don’t eat much. When I’m really busy, I quite often forget to eat lunch. But if I am bored, I snack incessantly.
I need to head off to bed. I may peek in tomorrow at some point. Buona Notte!
((((Hugs))))

Devo andare a letto troppo. Forse ci vediamo domani allora. Buonanotte.

I read today that the media spent a grand total of 1% of its time discussing the issues the Hillary Clinton mentioned.

I read that Rawstory article, too. We, in no way, are extremely easy to mock. Hillary 2020!

Two things:
Thanks for changing your screen name back. I appreciate that.
I hope you have a happy Thanksgiving.

I, too, imagine that people change their screen names like I do. And, BTW: Thanksgiving is an evil, racist holiday. Hillary 2020!
