Because you need something to make you smile:

Sergeant Jason Bos and his K-9 partner Cila spent five years side-by-side in Iraq. They were together through 100 missions which included working with the secret service and detecting roadside bombs.

But when the sergeant retired in 2012 due to a back injury, he headed back to the states… without Cila, a beautiful chocolate Labrador.

Depressed and heartbroken, Sgt. Bos wasn’t sure if he’d ever be reunited with his best friend ever again.

Two years passed, and not a day went by that Sgt. Bos didn’t think about his Cila. However, fate intervened when Bos learned that Cila was about to retire from her service, too.

With the help of the American Humane Association and Mission K-9 Rescue, Cila was flown all the way from Germany to Chicago to reunite with Sgt. Bos at O’Hare International Airport. The second Cila hears Sgt. Bos’ voice, she knows it’s him.

That’s awesome! A pity it doesn’t happen more often.

What an amazing memory Cila, and all dogs seem to have.

I saw a show once were people that were separated from their dogs because of hurricane Katrina were reunited.

They were separated for years for one reason or another but this group of ladies collected and cared for the dogs. Working to get the dogs back to were they belonged.

Some of the dogs, when finally let out of the car that was taking them home and spotting their owners they tore ass up the driveway and leaped into the owners arms. I mean the dogs recognized their owners right on first sight.

My guess is dogs have long memories too.

I’m sure they do. Imagine how they suffer being away from their home and owner.

          That show was heartbreaking.

There was a lot of owners that never got their dogs or cats back.

I’d love to have watched it, it was not shown here. I remember reading at the time about people in NO being forced to leave their pets behind to be adopted. I was horrified.
