Are the Times, Politico normalizing racism?
Frances Langum at Crooks & Liars makes the case:
The media refuses to call them Nazis.
"Heil the people! Heil victory," some shouted at an alt-right conference in Washington https://t.co/McMAo32r5B
— The New York Times (@nytimes) November 21, 2016
The alt-right, a movement associated with racism and anti-Semitism, celebrated Trump's election https://t.co/MFN75iLqe4 via @katieglueck

Frances also cites this tweet of one journo not playing along with the narrative.
This is a chilling passage https://t.co/5DjXfuozdK pic.twitter.com/HgQewV8QXQ

“Alt-right”? How about a little truth for a change, say, “white supremacists” and/or “modern-day Nazis”?
‘Nuff said.

I haven’t been on Politico for sometime now. That want change.
mistlesuede November 21st, 2016 at 16:28
Many of their stories are linked to The People’s View website and have been very good. It’s too bad they ruined their comment section but I guess it got quite out of hand and they didn’t want to bother moderating anymore. They went to Facebook comments I think.

Gone are the investigative TV and newspaper reporters. It’s easier to hide behind a camera or a computer
Buford2k11 November 21st, 2016 at 13:16
let’s call ’em what they really are…Fuckin’ Nazis….
oldfart November 21st, 2016 at 14:03
“in a federal building named after Ronald Reagan”
Surely that must make the republican party very proud.
Roll over saint raygun and tell di*k nixon the news…
crc3 November 21st, 2016 at 15:06
The msm has zero guts or the b*lls to tell it like it is which is the Pu**y Grabber In Chief and his confederates are Nazi thugs. Time to wise up and rise up before the cancer spreads…
Gina Bousquet November 21st, 2016 at 15:10
The press won’t admit there are neo- nazis in the US.
whatthe46 November 21st, 2016 at 15:11
of course not. they’d have to admit that they’re white and the most violent and genuine thugs.
Gina Bousquet November 21st, 2016 at 15:13
That’s right. But that’s what they are, be it in Europe or the Us
mistlesuede November 21st, 2016 at 16:25
They are part of his cabinet.
Gina Bousquet November 21st, 2016 at 16:30
A dreadful cabinet indeed.
mistlesuede November 21st, 2016 at 16:37
Each new day brings more evil into it.
Gina Bousquet November 21st, 2016 at 16:41
Yes, I’ve been following. Scary and disgusting. Can’t still imagine how far they’ll go once his presidency starts
mistlesuede November 21st, 2016 at 17:02
He got away with so much during the election. Most of the media completely failed us and there is nothing happening to make us feel it’s going to be different now. They are expanding on the illegality of their methods during the transition. It is going to be a nightmare after inauguration day.
Gina Bousquet November 21st, 2016 at 17:26
I suppose you’re right. I think you never lived such kind of political scenario before. In many ways it’s like you are now living under an internal right-wing coup.
mistlesuede November 21st, 2016 at 17:37
Bill Maher, a comedian, said that it was a slow moving coup the week before the election. I agreed with him. Just look at what took place. You can’t NOT see it. Another political comedian I listen to every morning on the radio said the same exact thing and still does. Is it an internal coup when other governments (Russia) are involved?
Why are the only people speaking the truth about this mess liberal comedians who have nothing to lose? It was never mentioned once even on the few somewhat liberal TV shows that I like.
Gina Bousquet November 21st, 2016 at 17:46
Yes, internal coups usually involve foreign governments. I fail to understand why you lack political analysts in the big press, that’s their role. Political Scientists should be talking as well.
mistlesuede November 21st, 2016 at 18:20
I wrote you a long comment and I just noticed it’s “pending.” :(
Let’s see what happens. I think one word may be the problem but it should not be. If it doesn’t un-pend (I made up that word) in a while I’ll copy it and try changing that one word I used a couple of times. It’s another word for dumb.
mistlesuede November 21st, 2016 at 18:26
Going to try this again changing just one word and see what happens.
Oh Gina! It’s horrible here. Gone are the days that we had trusted
people in the media. Now it’s a ratings casino and to hell with truth.
Some of the best work done by investigative reporters during this
horrible election was only found online and there was no mention of the
work they did on cable “news” except for the few news shows I watch in
the evening on one channel. The news media is owned by corporate right
wingers. One from CBS even admitted that the election coverage was bad,
but the sensationalism was very good for their bottom line! There are
very good educators and reporters that are on a very few shows
that are speaking the truth. Other than them and radio personalities
that are liberal, it’s toxic stupidity going out to the ill-informed
masses. And the stupid has taken over social media with fake news
coverage being blasted out. The people reading that crap think it is
real and do nothing to learn what is the truth.
There is one network
that exists solely to speak Republican. Their viewers were studied and
found to be less informed than people who watch NO news! The right wing
radio networks have all the power to spew lies and they outnumber
liberal shows fifty to one. The liberal shows have to raise money to be
on the air.

I’m so sorry, dear, things look really unfavorable. You’ll have to place your bets on organized political groups linked to your Party, I guess…
mistlesuede November 21st, 2016 at 18:44
I’m sure this is not what you would have expected from our country.
Thanks for understanding the situation we find ourselves in now.
Gina Bousquet November 21st, 2016 at 18:46
It’s the least I can do, wish I could do more to share this difficult moment. Stay strong dear! :)
mistlesuede November 22nd, 2016 at 10:03
I’m trying. :)
Gina Bousquet November 22nd, 2016 at 12:40
👏 🙌 That’s the way dear friend :)

The FBI being headed by Comey isn’t going to help because they are on the same dangerous page…
Gina Bousquet November 22nd, 2016 at 12:45
So it seems crc3. I guess all agencies will behave like the FBI has, starting January 1rst.

For decades, the Ku Klux Klan openly endorsed candidates for political office.
Ronald Reagan, was offered the support of the Klan in both 1980 and 1984. “I have no tolerance whatsoever for what the Klan represents,” he said in 1980 after a meeting with Jesse Jackson. “Indeed, I resent them using my name.”
At least reagan showed his distain.
But not pumpkin head. He must see a way to make some kind of profit off these guys.
mistlesuede November 21st, 2016 at 16:23
He already has. He got elected by them and is using the office to sell hotel rooms in DC to foreign officials, his spawn’s jewelry, business at his hotels across the world and the list will keep growing. He will never say anything like what you’ve written that Reagan did.
Suzanne McFly November 21st, 2016 at 17:02
In our future history books I see stories of how the “alt-right” began and grew under multiple republican presidencies. During the democratic terms, they were just forced underground but eventually their “true leader” came to power and America was changed forever. And the students reading these texts will be asking their teachers why no one was strong enough to stand up against the sexist, racist, bigoted ideology this group represents.
