This is why rump picked pence, I would love to get rid of rump from the Oval Office but his successor is a lot worse, so that ensures rumps safety.

Has Wes Craven returned from the dead to script the horror movie we now find ourselves in?

    • Suzanne McFly November 18th, 2016 at 07:26

This is more like an Edgar Allan Poe poem IMO.

The provision is for mental illness. Should the president become disabled due to mental illness, the vice president can replace him. It cannot be used to unseat a duly elected president who you think is insane, simply because you disagree with his policies…

I think Pence is a better choice, but you cannot easily remove a duly elected president, nor should it be.

You forget that Trump is clearly mentally unstable. 3am tweets because of hurt fee fees might be your first clue.

wearing a dead animal did it for me.

      • trees November 18th, 2016 at 09:23

        Dems couldn’t beat him….

I so wish I could’ve been in the room with Hillary on election eve.

She was convinced she’d be the next President.

That must have been a spectacular melt down.

    • whatthe46 November 18th, 2016 at 08:19

he is mental you mental illiterate midget.

      • trees November 18th, 2016 at 09:17

You’re probably going to be stuck with him for the next 8 years…

So, you may want to consider what caused him to rise in the first place….

Radical leftist incivility has given birth to the current Republican controlled government.

        Go riot in the street…

Next election cycle 25 seats are up for Dems in the Senate.

        Good luck with that.

“Radical leftist incivility has given birth to the current Republican controlled government.
          Go riot in the street…”

          In your dreams.
PE tRump may have made your kind happier
but he cannot make any of you smarter.
We will see what happens like it or not.

blaming leftists for Republicans being elected. my BS meter just exploded..

          • trees November 19th, 2016 at 01:12

I seem to remember your head exploding on, or around, Nov 8.

Question, “how did Democrats do in the last midterm election?”

They didn’t do so well in this latest election…

You, and your friends are feverishly hoping this president elect fails….

And what was this last election cycle, if not a rejection of Obama liberalism??

They like the man, Obama, but not his plan, liberalism.

Hence, high approval rating, and political shellacking at the election booth.

        good one 46

    • fahvel November 18th, 2016 at 10:49

hey dip, frump is a sociopath, psychopath, unable to think thoughts presidentially, can’t wipe his bottom, hates, hates hates. WTF are you gaarbling about?

    • Comicus November 18th, 2016 at 13:21

That is not specified in the amendment.

      • trees November 18th, 2016 at 13:55

their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office

Unable. Now, put your thinking cap on. What would be the cause leading to inability?

The author himself states, “But if somebody is simply psychologically or physically incapable, there is also a process in the Constitution, section four of the Twenty-Fifth Amendment that says, it’s a complicated process, it’s difficult to do. I don’t predict that this will happen at all. But I do think we are going to be talking about it more and more as we wonder about the mental state of the President Elect.”

        • oldfart November 18th, 2016 at 14:06

Tweeting at 1:30 in the morning and then lying that he didn’t tweet what he clearly tweeted, does not suggest mental stability.
but that wouldn’t matter to you anyway…

        • Comicus November 18th, 2016 at 14:14

The only thing required is the written declaration. The discretion lies solely with the named officials. No independent, objective medical diagnosis nor psychological evaluation needed, simply that written declaration.

        • arc99 November 18th, 2016 at 15:35

“””Unable. Now, put your thinking cap on.””””

          Your statement
“”The provision is for mental illness, or a disabling medical event, such as a massive stroke. “”

appears nowhere in the 25th amendment.

So we are to engage in the kind of judicial activism conservatives pretend to oppose by superimposing personal opinion over the words actually written in the Constitution.

The 25th amendment is quite clear. It is up to the Vice President and the principal officers of the executive branch to determine what renders the President unable to fulfill his duties. Nothing in the 25th amendment requires that justification be based on medical or mental health issues.

Whatever. Trump, Pence then Ryan. That’s the succession, choose your poison.

    • mea_mark November 18th, 2016 at 10:25

All of the above. Don’t give any of them a chance to settle in. We might just survive till the next election that way.

    • oldfart November 18th, 2016 at 10:27

They’re like cockroaches, get rid of one, 12 show up to take their place.

It’s better to let Trump stay right where he’s at. In no time at all the entire republican party will be so humiliated and exposed as the anti-american, inept racists they are.
Trump will screw things up so bad, we won’t have to remove him, he’ll resign in disgrace after some major catastrophe occurs on American soil.

    • mea_mark November 18th, 2016 at 20:31

That seems like a likely scenario to me. I really doubt he last till the end of 2017.

    • StoneyCurtisll November 18th, 2016 at 20:31

      Hope you’re right…

  6. StoneyCurtisll November 18th, 2016 at 20:28

Even if Trumpf could be removed from office based on his incompetence….
Look at what we will inherent…
    Mike Pence..
