Rep. Tim Ryan to challenge Pelosi to become House Democratic leader
Tim Ryan told me last night that discussions were ongoing, and today he announced he’s challenging Nancy Pelosi for House leadership.
In a letter to the caucus, the 43-year-old Ryan said last week’s disastrous election results — the latest in a string of bad cycles for Democrats — show the party needs a new direction that can be accomplished only with new leaders.
“While having a position in Democratic Leadership has never been my life’s ambition, after this election I believe we all need to re-evaluate our roles within the Caucus, the Democratic Party, and our country,” Ryan wrote.
“That is why I am announcing my run for Minority Leader of the Democratic Caucus and humbly request your support.”
The letter came just minutes after Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-N.Y.) announced that he’s seeking to replace outgoing House Democratic Caucus Chairman Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.) in the 115th Congress.

Any other time I would agree with changing the leader, but now with an army of misogynists controlling the whitehouse, no one is better than a strong woman to take them on.

She hasn’t done so good leading when it wasn’t as vitriolic.
I’m not sure that woman is who you think she is.
And after reading through Tim Ryan’s report on On The Issues, I could easily back him. :)

I’m not a big fan of staying the course when it leads to a rout.

Time to shake it up. Like a snow globe.
“we’ll have to vote for it, to see what’s in it…”
She’s a good woman but it’s time.

Tim Ryan is no progressive. Not sure if he represents the kind of change in leadership I’m looking for.

Not progressive?
What makes you say that?
Because when I checked the “On The Issues” site, he certainly seems quite progressive!

I’m not certain how much influence Nancy Pelosi has on the dealings of the Democratic Party outside of Congress, such as determining party platform, selecting party appointments and candidates, and so forth.
You must admit, however, that her record as majority leader of the House in 2009 and 2010 is impressive.

It’s 2016.

O.o
Wait… you mean the same 2010 that we all lived through?
Like, the one where Dems did terribly in elections?
Is there something I’m not aware of that shines such a positive light on her?

Tim Ryan would finally give independents more to look at in the Democratic party. All Pelosi can do at this point is add to the almost 600 million she has raised and deceive even more people; or help pass more bills that she doesn’t even look at. If someone tells her it helps her unconstitutional agenda, she just smiles, pushes, manipulates, warps, and deceives. The only good thing about Pelosi is that one of her daughters actually demonstrates the ability to be objective and honest. The agenda at all costs radicals have ruled the party for far too long now.

Misogynists don’t know “Congressional Research Service” summarizes all legislation. And that’s why dumb folks are most always errant e.g. “But we have to pass the [GOP Ammended 906 page ACA HC] bill so that you can find out what’s in it….” https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-partisan/post/pelosi-defends-her-infamous-health-care-remark/2012/06/20/gJQAqch6qV_blog.html?utm_term=.e024cc78f9ba https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/a70b3291560cf9c3cd21dbca66ca8cb79296f82e2ada833802891663f71dd093.jpg

The status quo hasn’t been that successful as of late. Perhaps a shake up in the top is in order.
