Trump’s email problem: his companies destroyed them, defying court order

Posted by | October 31, 2016 11:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Now what was thatabout Anthony Weiner’s computer? Lock him up!

Over the course of decades, Donald Trump’s companies have systematically destroyed or hidden thousands of emails, digital records and paper documents demanded in official proceedings, often in defiance of court orders. These tactics—exposed by a Newsweek review of thousands of pages of court filings, judicial orders and affidavits from an array of court cases—have enraged judges, prosecutors, opposing lawyers and the many ordinary citizens entangled in litigation with Trump. In each instance, Trump and entities he controlled also erected numerous hurdles that made lawsuits drag on for years, forcing courtroom opponents to spend huge sums of money in legal fees as they struggled—sometimes in vain—to obtain records.

This behavior is of particular import given Trump’s frequent condemnations of Hillary Clinton, his Democratic opponent, for having deleted more than 30,000 emails from a server she used during her time as secretary of state. While Clinton and her lawyers have said all of those emails were personal, Trump has suggested repeatedly on the campaign trail that they were government documents Clinton was trying to hide and that destroying them constituted a crime. The allegation—which the FBI concluded was not supported by any evidence—is a crowd-pleaser at Trump rallies, often greeted by supporters chanting, “Lock her up!”

This will help his minions to worship him more.

They WANT a proven criminal because they do not respect the law and want him to lie cheat and steal to make THEY have more.

As if that would ever happen.

But that seems to be how the republican mind works: When they look for a candidate, the worse they are, the more they adore and worship them as a candidate.

over the span of some 35 years, numerous ‘coincidences’ – continuous ‘acts of God’ that allow the guilty to walk away free – and any other BS republiCONs throw out now is a direct path to ORGANIZED CRIME conclusions – nothing else makes any sense.

So this justifies Clinton’s criminal behavior?

    • jybarz October 31st, 2016 at 14:21

No. Nothing to justify. There’s no proven Clinton criminal behaviour, is there?

Tramp is on his own when it comes to criminality…and it’s a matter of time now he gets to be sentenced for raping a 13y old girl (same age as his daughter Ivanka at the time of the rape) and fraud for his Trump University bullshit.

There will be more coming… thanks for him running for president he’s now more exposed than ever before of all his criminality…he’s a human maggot.

      sigh!

allegations by members of the republican crime syndicate against Honorable and Honest Hillary Clinton does not in any way constitute ‘criminal behavior’.

      you know that.
      I know that.
      the whole world knows that.

      including the trump deplorables.

Wow, what part of your colon did you drag THAT out of? Cuz you are the only one who has even mentioned it.

What criminal behavior? Republiclowns have been three decades trying to hang something on Hillary, and can’t find so much as an expired library card. Do chime in when you have evidence, proof or even a credible argument. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/ce31ca997cbaee0ca1e13038942567b700533750475ce885f525a38a8888be8d.jpg

      1. The FBI didn’t find any evidence of a crime in their extensive investigations.

      2. The claimed number of emails between Wiener and Abedin is everything the both parties have sent or received on a shared computer. Anthony has probably sent thousands all by himself. He’s a politician who ran for NYC mayor. Sending mail to all members of an email list and those could be counted as thousands of separate emails.

And as to Abedin, her emails probably include the same sort of email list. Her job does include promoting Mrs Clinton’s campaign. More, emails between Abedin and Wiener are not Clinton’s responsibility.

      3. Next, have you read the letter Comey sent to congress? It says absolutely nothing of any substance.

Here is the letter in part:

“Although the FBI cannot yet assess whether or not this material may be
significant, and I cannot predict how long it will take us to complete
this additional work, I believe it is important to update your
Committees about our efforts in light of my previous testimony.”

So, what do we have? A letter saying that on somebodies (not Clinton’s) computer there are emails that have not been sent to or are from Clinton, Comey and the FBI admit that they have no knowledge of the email contents. (as of Friday).

Comey, being a Republican, sent this letter on Friday a week and a half before the election. That sounds like a political dirty trick to me. But no tactic is too dirty for the Republican party’s leadership.

      Director

in order for us to not think you are a very stupid narrow minded twerp, please list the crimes that have been committed and exactly how they are defined as crimes.

Like dRump said, he could shoot someone on the street and his alt-right supporters would still support him!, Donald could probably go after a little girl and they would still vote for him.

One of the biggest problem with the American legal system, with enough money you can stonewall anybody, including the government

It has apparently been leaked that FBI director James Comey did not want to report that Russia was behind the hacked emails because it might have an effect on the election.

We might ask, would him reporting this have an effect that would hurt Trump?
