Roughly a third of the people arrested in the past week of anti-Trump demonstrations in Portland apparently didn’t vote in the election they were protesting.
Thirty-six of the 112 arrested people — 32 percent — were
registered in Oregon but didn’t return ballots, according to data
compiled by the Multnomah County Elections Division.
The data showed 31 people — 28 percent — did vote in Oregon.
Alan Colmes broadcast absurdities for 11/15/16:
1) Alan keeps playing Kellyanne Conway speaking about Harry Reid implying some absurd scare tactic like you’ll be silenced if you speak against Trump. Alan’s warped projection explained: Reid calling Trump a sexual predator for the news networks to flood the American people is a very serious thing. If I went around publicly saying or writing Alan Colmes was a sexual predator, it has the real potential to fall under libel/slander. Let me act like Alan does when someone gives an illegal implication about Hillary. “What do you mean he is a sexual predator? What law did he break? When was he convicted? Where is his face in the national database? Regardless of what you want to be true, there is no proof that he is a sexual predator; just some very suspicious and very old stories that happen to come out near the end of the election cycle; and we now have emails that show the news network purposely sat on this story and didn’t release it until they thought it would hurt Trump.” Now, is Trump a sexual predator? We don’t know; but for Harry Reid to state it as an absolute fact causing damage to Trump politically and in business, it’s getting real close to legal grounds.
2) Not long after this Alan asks if Trump supporters want to take words back to help heal the country. This comes to the height of hypocrisy. Whose supporters are stirring the pot with visceral hatred since the election? Who is sending out of state protesters to strategic cities? What politicians are making incredibly decisive statements? Who states only part of a fact, warps it, and pushes it as far as it will go as propaganda?
3) A caller named Mike was led very easily by Alan into a very stretched out hypothetical (that of course projected Trump failure) that the caller could not compete with. More hypocrisy from Alan. What does he continually tell callers? That he doesn’t do or answer hypothetical questions; yet he sure likes doing it to others.
Sounds like you’re practicing for Reid’s senate seat. Except you’ll need a little more self control with public profanity outbursts. Have the MoveOn folks employed you yet? This is the kind of thing they might be interested in. You only need to remember 3 homophobic labels to put on people that disagree with you; and be angry; but you can call it passion.
First, “sexual predator” does not require a criminal conviction to be an accurate and true statement. The “pussy” video, regardless of how you wish to attempt to explain it away – validates Reid’s statement so libel/slander simply doesn’t apply.
Secondly, Alan directed the tone of a conversation on his own radio show? Oh, the horrors!
Hi Carla,
Being that I don’t add whatever meaning I want to words, here is the word for word definition of sexual predator: “a person who has committed a sexually violent offense and especially one who is likely to commit more sexual offenses”. So again, someone talking about a part of female anatomy disrespectfully is completely different than someone that has committed a sexually violent offense. This isn’t about trying to explain away or defend the dubbed locker room audio, it’s the fact that Harry Reid did go way too far and is right on the edge.
he ADMITTED he does it. furthermore, it shows that you are a rape apologist. anyone that has the audacity to defend any “man” that even says “i just ‘grab’ them by the pussy” has some self reflecting to do. is this the kinda of disgusting habit you teach to your son. he said it, he did it and that makes him a sexual predator. he also admits to walking in on 15 y/o naked girls in the dressing room because he can. maybe being an inbred is cool too. only someone who thinks that’s ok is likely someone who does his daughter or mother. consider this as well, he also said he’d do Ivanka. disgusting maggot.
Hi Willys. I have a job and the user name has nothing to do with an ex-con :) I actually listen to Alan at work, but I’m working so I can’t really call in or I would.

Alan Colmes broadcast absurdities for 11/15/16 continued:
Since Tune In would not load the show tonight there is something I almost forgot about last night.
4) Right before a break Alan was falsely projecting a fear narrative (imagine that) to the audience about Trump having his children obtain security clearance. Here it is: within literally the last second he squeezed in something that I’m sure most people missed. He said “Uday and Qusay” referring to Trump’s children. Now he’ll make sure to defend bad comparisons against liberals, but he has no problem making the most radicalized comparisons when he has no factual argument. Just more hypocrisy. What liberals would normally fake outrage about strictly because it helps their cause, they label as just a joke when it comes from them. Now back to Uday and Qusay. This is from E Britannica so liberals shouldn’t have a problem with it.
Uday Hussein and Qusay Hussein, Iraqi officials (respectively, b. June 18, 1964, Baghdad, Iraq—d. July 22, 2003, Mosul, Iraq, and b. May 17, 1966, Baghdad—d. July 22, 2003, Mosul), as the elder sons of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, were central figures in their father’s brutal 24-year rule. Despite their common goal of supporting their father’s regime, the two brothers were very different. Uday was a flamboyant womanizer who financed his lavish lifestyle largely through smuggling and racketeering. His erratic and violent behaviour was widely known, and he allegedly reveled in wanton murder, rape, and particularly vicious forms of torture. Uday attended the University of Baghdad College of Engineering and the Al-Bakh Military Academy, although he showed little interest or ability in either. From the mid-1980s he controlled a radio station, a television station, and the daily newspaper Babil (Arabic for Babylon), as well as the Ministry of Youth. In his role as head of the Iraqi Olympic Committee in the mid-1990s, Uday reportedly jailed and tortured athletes who failed to live up to his expectations. He alienated his father in 1988 when he beat one of Saddam’s personal aides to death in public. As a result, Uday was briefly imprisoned and then exiled to Switzerland. After returning to Iraq in about 1990, Uday became head of the paramilitary fedayeen. He oversaw the punishment of disloyal soldiers during and after the first Gulf War and was thought to have been responsible for the deaths of his two brothers-in-law who had defected to Jordan and then returned to Iraq. He was left partially paralyzed by an assassination attempt in 1996. Although Qusay was considered as ruthless as his older brother, he was more discreet and low-profile than Uday. Qusay studied law at the University of Baghdad and served as deputy head of Saddam’s special security organization, using his power to torture and summarily execute prison inmates and political opponents. After the first Gulf War, he crushed a Shiʿite rebellion in southern Iraq and administered the destruction of the ancient marshlands in that region. After Uday was shot and crippled, Qusay took control of the fedayeen, as well as the elite Republican Guards and the National Security Council. By 2000 Uday reportedly had proved too unstable to retain his father’s trust, and Qusay was generally regarded as Saddam’s heir apparent. In early 2003, after the U.S.-led coalition invaded Iraq, Qusay and Uday were designated, respectively, the second and third most-wanted officials of the old regime. The brothers were in hiding in a private residence in northern Iraq when they were killed in a shootout with U.S. troops.
nothing false about tRump wanting clearance for his brats. mr. sexual assault apologist, racist apologist, bigot apologist, etc., etc. he’s a fraud and going on trial for fraud but, that matters not to you.
Decided to give responding to you another try. It does matter to me; as not one of your judgments of me has been remotely accurate or founded. If the fraud is proven to match the implications and testimony then it was a detestable thing to do to people (if you’re referring to T.U.). I am not a Trump lover, nor did I vote for him (or Hillary). This is the first time I could not bring myself to vote for either major party candidate. The reasons can be debated but I cast my vote for another. Alan is the only self declared liberal that I can listen to. The others I’ve heard are so radicalized in their own ideology that they become disconnected from intellectual integrity, and only partial twisted truths are heard by the objective listener with a little knowledge of current events or history. Alan is entertaining, somewhat charming, funny, and at times he can be objective; he is also very unobjective and has displayed great hypocrisy over the course of around six months of broadcasts I’ve heard from him. Liberals are unique to me in that there are often extreme judgments, unified hypocrisy, and refusal to deal with a valid point; spinning in any direction they can other than the obvious point being addressed to them. But then one starts to understand when studying liberals through the sixties, then the rules for radicals influence in the seventies, the increasing plan of influence in the areas of national influence that can change a nation within a 40 year generation up to the present. Now if Schumer really does bring more diverse views to the democratic party, their moves and attacks won’t be so predictable; and at this point, Soros needs to slow down his endless war path because it’s starting to backfire on him and the liberals. After writing all this, I’m quite aware of shameless weak republicans that take advantage any way they can and get away with it.
first off, you might want to refrain from ranting to the point where NOT ONLY do you make no sense and you lie, but, you have a problem with paragraphs. it’s bad enough you write a dialogue of tribe that you bungle it all together, i’m also guessing it’s much like what’s going on in your head. a lot of mess. so, i have no clue as to what you’re talking about.
All I can say is please spend some time on Rational Wiki. With a little effort, a body of understandable text without paragraphs won’t derail you so much.
Willful ignorance is the state and practice of ignoring any sensory input that appears to contradict one’s inner model of reality. At heart, it is almost certainly driven by confirmation bias.
It differs from the standard definition of “ignorance“ — which just means that one is unaware of something — in that willfully ignorant people are fully aware of facts, resources and sources, but refuse to acknowledge them. Indeed, calling someone “ignorant” shouldn’t really be a pejorative, but intentional and willful ignorance is an entirely different matter…
It is sometimes referred to as tactical stupidity.
Depending on the nature and strength of an individual’s pre-existing beliefs, willful ignorance can manifest itself in different ways. The practice can entail completely disregarding established facts, evidence and/or reasonable opinions if they fail to meet one’s expectations. Often excuses will be made, stating that the source is unreliable, that the experiment was flawed or the opinion is too biased. More often than not this is simple circular reasoning: “I cannot agree with that source because it is untrustworthy because it disagrees with me”.
In other slightly more extreme cases, willful ignorance can involve outright refusal to read, hear or study, in any way, anything that does not conform to the person’s worldview. With regard to oneself, this can even extend to fake locked-in syndrome with complete unresponsiveness. Or with regard to others, to outright censorship of the material from others.
If you don’t like Alan’s show, don’t listen. I don’t like Rush so I don’t listen to him…and he is so full of crap and lies and distorts I just wouldn’t have enough time to comment about all of it on his sight.
I just installed AdBlock on my new lap top. Man, do I hate ads. I want to thank who ever it was on this site that suggested it to me oh so many years ago.
