I have lived in mountain areas as beautiful as the photo on your post, and agree with you 100%.Fracking has and is causing more environmental destruction than those who are supposed to be watching over such things will ever admit. Not to mention the earthquake factor,as well. The sad thing is we could have had clean and free energy decades ago.Once again the greed of a small percentage of people, have suppressed the information.Tesla among others, had the knowledge to transform the entire concept of the subject, and provide free energy.

How about an end to this drug war against medicinal plants? The schedule one category is archaic and unjust. For decades now, freaking decades, our government has ruined the Iives of a countless number of its own citizens.Putting a human being in a filthy cage for the “crime” of smoking a flower that eases pain and makes someone feel good for a few hours,is not something that should be occuring in a so called free country.
A schedule one substance,is in part, defined as having no accepted medical use.How can we allow this ludicrous insanity to continue. One has only to goggle the plethora of information available to find credible studies that have been made, that absolutely confirms the medical efficiency of this non-lethal plant.Statements by some politicians, phony excuses not sensible statements, have been made that we need more medical studies. No politicians we do not need more studies. We need them to read the studies already performed. We need them to stop taking money from big pharma and the alcohol industry, and start listening to the voice of the majority, you remember, the “people” that pay the taxes to keep you in a job.
This lunacy needs to end.The war against cannabis began with racial motivations.John Erlichman, one of the major architects of this war under the Nixon administration has in recent years confessed to that motivation.Yet still it continues.Francis Young,a DEA administration judge in 1988 ,after 2 years of medical studies, admitted to the safety and the medical benefits of this plant. There is far more evidence that I could site, but I’ll close my rant without a long discourse, simply saying, schedule 1 is based on motivations and an agenda that is wrong.Look into the subject and prove me wrong.
Legalization is coming, we need to stop for-profit prisons more than anything else at this point. If it weren’t for those and pharmaceutical companies, weed never would have been illegal.
Well, not quite.
It’s true that those are industries that could be hurt by legalized marijuana, but it wasn’t their doing that made it illegal in the first place.
At that time, hemp was endangering paper and petrochemicals, which didn’t sit well with Hearst and DuPont, so Hearst used his newspapers to criminalize and demonize “marihuana”.
Then used his congressional contacts to push through legislation that killed marijuana and hemp.
But you’re point is no less true that stopping for-profit prisons would remove a barrier to legalization.
And Big Pharma should embrace it as a medicine instead of fighting against it.
Hearst and DuPont were major players in the history of the scumbags who have decided to start a war with their neighbors and fellow Americans over a flower.Once again it’s money, greed, and profit that motivates them to deny others the right to a herb!! Okay , took my little dog to the vet Friday . We have hiked daily (unleased and free) averaging about 2 hrs a day for the last 7.8 years. The vet determined ( correctly so imo ) that she has a stretched tendon at left knee. Vets orders : Leash walking 2 times a day . Dog must be kept in enclosed area so as not to run , jump or otherwise do anything that her dna demands she do at will. How long I ask ………. through winter , 4 months she replied. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKY-smJ6aBQ
Threw up a temporary enclosure off the porch yesterday. At least she can sit on the porch when I have to leave her and have a place to go. Made a few other adjustments around the place so she won’t have to jump. I don’t know how we’re gonna do it Larry but the Vet was clear, the tendon is stretched to it’s limit and if she re injures it surgery would be necessary. Sucks.
Fellow music buffs! Are you like me and like yours rootsy?
Do you enjoy playing fine music your friends have never heard? Weh-heh- heh – hell, have I got a treat for you!
The Oxford American quarterly literary magazine puts out a music issue each year that is always special. They dig deep in the vaults and the CD that comes with the music issue may contain tunes 70 or 80 years old. Sometimes you get 2 CDs.
The whole issue will be devoted to music with articles mostly about the performers and various music scenes in Dixie.
The next issue will feature blues music and will come out in December.
You will want it, believe me.
Thing is, that one issue will cost nearly as much as a 1-year subscription. The way to go is order up a subscription so you don’t have to keep going back to your local Barnes & Noble to see if it is in. Just make one more trip to the magazine rack, find an issue of the Oxford American and use one of those annoying inserted cards to get a subscription. Sometimes they charge $20 and some of them have a $15 price tag.
The magazine is not too bad, either. You get 4 issues a year.
I am a tad annoyed with it because it claims to be a magazine of Southern writing when actually a significant percentage of the stories are not written by Southerners; or if they are, some of the writers do not write in a Southern style or seem to me to be tapped in to Southern culture.
On the other hand, plenty of the stories range from good to terrific and have stayed with me long after I read them.
I have been subscribing to the Oxford American for a decade or longer.
The annual music issue always has some really good stories. Previous music issues featured music from various Southern states as the theme for that edition. Those have wide ranges of music in many genres as well as tunes that defy categorization. Some of-em have some crazy stuff on them. This should be no surprise, since jazz, blues, country, zydeco, bluegrass, Dixieland, rock and roll, heavy metal and ska all originated in Dixie.
Do the smart thing – order you a subscription to the Oxford American now and remember your pal burqa when the music issue arrives and you find yourself blown away and keep thumbing through the issue to the short piece on the song that has entranced you. Do what I do – put a paper clip on the page with the table of contents and another one on the section that covers all the songs.
If you’re into music like I am, order now!
The music CDs are terrific, and so are the articles in the issue about the songs or music in general. There are good stories in the other 3 issues that come out each year, too.
It’s also a pretty attractive magazine with ads from all kinds of places to visit in the South all through there.
Although my subscription does not run out till the end of 2017, I am about to order another year because when I do, I can give a subscription to a friend, free of charge. So that’s what I’m going to do…..
