Indonesia to castrate pedophiles
Indonesia’s parliament has voted to allow incredibly strict punishments against convicted pedophiles, including chemical castration, 10-year mandatory minimum prison sentences and execution, the BBC reported this week. Indonesian President Joko Widodo proposed the changes. The Indonesian Doctors Association said the punishments would violate its members’ professional ethics. The new laws will mandate at least 10 years…

wow…I thought the death penalty for pedophiles was the way to go….but cuttin’ off their peckers is pretty harsh as well…pedophiles are the lowest of the low.. the low places that Trump dwells in…

I am totally on board with this, but I hope there aren’t any wrong convictions.

If they were in the U.S., The Tax payer Appeals would last until the Predator was 103 year sold.

I do.
One, we see repeated cases of those convicted of serious crimes being exonerated further down the road.
Two, is it really any different than cutting off a hand for theft?
Three, does it actually stop the forces that drive them? Does it actually make them blame their victims for their mutilation?
I’m against the death penalty, but it makes more sense than mutilation. A sexual deviant with a major-league grudge doesn’t sound better to me.

I really do no think the United States should ever go down the road of altering people physicially as punishment for a crime.
Once we do that, the legal precedent is set. Then like so many other political discussions in this country, it becomes a question of not IF we should do something but under what circumstances.
Chemical castration of pedophiles?
How about chopping off the hand of a thief?
What about forced contraception on women convicted of child neglect?
If Roe v Wade is ever overturned, what prevents some strident anti abortion legislature from specifying the penalty for a woman who gets an “illegal” abortion is a hysterectomy, whether she wants one or not.
Put people in prison. Let them do their time, however long that might be and let us stay out of the business of chemical or physical mutilation

I agree wholeheartedly, but just once I’d like to see a pedophile priest (who’s victims that were traumatized by the rape, and who later committed suicide) gets what’s coming to him.

My only problem with this is, that they are using Chemical instead of Physical Castration.
