Trump’s followers threaten journalists, including Eichenwald, Katy Tur

Newsweek’s Kurt Eichenwald has epilepsy. A sociopathic Trump supporter attempted to victimize him in an incredibly sick way:

In his tweet, which has since been deleted, Mike made mention of my seizures and included a small video. It contained images of Pepe the Frog, a cartoon character that has been identified by the Anti-Defamation League as a hate symbol. I was carrying my iPad, looking at the still image on the video and, without thinking, touched the PLAY button.

The video was some sort of strobe light, with flashing circles and images of Pepe flying toward the screen. It’s what’s called epileptogenic—something that triggers seizures. Fortunately, since I was standing, I simply dropped my iPad to the ground the second I realized what Mike had done. It landed face down on the bathroom floor.

The deplorables are real. The deplorables are dangerous.

Trump’s eliminationist sycophants also want to take physical revenge on journalists:

Katy Tur of NBC reported in an article in Marie Claire that she had to be escorted out of a Trump rally in December by Secret Service to protect her from raging Trump supporters who had sicced on her by their candidate. She was also the primary subject of a death threat two weeks later on Twitter.

MAYBE A FEW JOURNALISTS DO NEED TO BE WHACKED,” the tweet from someone with the handle GuyScott33 read. “MAYBE THEN THEYD STOP BEI[N]G BIASED HACKS. KILL EM ALL STARTING W/ KATY TUR.

As is typical of Twitter, “GuyScott33” has not been suspended or banned.

Eichenwald’s entire article is worth a read, especially if you still believe “it can’t happen here.”

I don’t think Deplorables covers this group of Trump supporters…most of these threats are hot air…even tho, it only takes one to cause an outrage…This is how journalism will be finished off, if Trump gets elected..

A free and open press is the first casualty of tyrannical rule

A word of caution, from now till election day be very careful what you post on general discussion boards, those not themselves Progressive. I posted something today on my local ABC affiliate’s board and got a reply from some creep who apparently researched me, he knew all the boards I post on and told me to ‘slither back’ to ‘libtard’ sites.

The guy was probably 15 years old. Still no sense in angering therm. Some of them are dangerous murderous creeps and more so now that they see their promised land of a nice White America fading.

Consider making your profile private; you can always link to a previous comment, if someone asks for proof that you posted something.
Otherwise, you just give some sick people an opening.
