NY Times Monday: Why Trump should not be president

Posted by | September 25, 2016 21:00 | Filed under: Opinion Politics

Short version: He’s a conman.

… it became clear that Mr. Trump’s views were matters of dangerous impulse and cynical pandering rather than thoughtful politics. Yet he has attracted throngs of Americans who ascribe higher purpose to him than he has demonstrated in a freewheeling campaign marked by bursts of false and outrageous allegations, personal insults, xenophobic nationalism, unapologetic sexism and positions that shift according to his audience and his whims…

A financial wizard who can bring executive magic to government?

Despite his towering properties, Mr. Trump has a record rife with bankruptcies and sketchy ventures like Trump University, which authorities are investigating after numerous complaints of fraud. His name has been chiseled off his failed casinos in Atlantic City…

A straight talker who tells it like it is?

Mr. Trump, who has no experience in national security, declares that he has a plan to soundly defeat the Islamic State militants in Syria, but won’t reveal it, bobbing and weaving about whether he would commit ground troops. Voters cannot judge whether he has any idea what he’s talking about without an outline of his plan, yet Mr. Trump ludicrously insists he must not tip off the enemy…

An expert negotiator who can fix government and overpower other world leaders?

His plan for cutting the national debt was far from a confidence builder: He said he might try to persuade creditors to accept less than the government owed. This fanciful notion, imported from Mr. Trump’s debt-steeped real estate world, would undermine faith in the government and the stability of global financial markets. His tax-cut plan has been no less alarming. It was initially estimated to cost $10 trillion in tax revenue, then, after revisions, maybe $3 trillion, by one adviser’s estimate. There is no credible indication of how this would be paid for — only assurances that those in the upper brackets will be favored.

now, considering this, are all those assholes who are supporting the big asshole assholes with chance of redemption?

          • William September 26th, 2016 at 08:58

Perhaps not. Trump supporters consider innuendo as fact. Just yesterday some troll on another site was convinced that the Clinton foundation funded the Clinton campaign because the radio told him so.
What we need is another plague. Seriously. Don’t worry, you’ll be fine. Just take some vitamins and put on a sweater. Mother nature is trying to do her job and we won’t let her. CPAP machines, life support, heart surgery and cholesterol meds are preventing the much better growth that could result when mother nature culls the herd like when better trees grow from land devastated by a forest fire. Ok so maybe the people over at Hot pockets and https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/6f7eb2f56c600d565645535ecce1875a8c34072a0e17b39cfe5b5b529d1a0656.jpg truck nutz might lose a few points on the NASDAQ, but it will be totally worth it. At least take the crosswalk markers out of the WalMart parking lots. The gene pool needs some chlorine.

Trump can see His Hemorrhoids by just Standing in front of a mirror.

Yeah, right there between his ears!

        • Jack E Raynbeau September 26th, 2016 at 12:19

And they say it with admiration.

      • Budda September 26th, 2016 at 07:05

        I stand corrected.

  2. Larry Schmitt September 26th, 2016 at 07:12

Oddly enough, there was an ad on this page for Trump. It said “Ride on Trump Force One with Trump. Let’s Go!”
No thanks, I’ll pass. I don’t care to ride on a plane without a pilot.

    • Suzanne McFly September 26th, 2016 at 07:14

I have a feeling trump force one is the little appendage between his legs, I wouldn’t ride it either if I were you Larry.

      • Larry Schmitt September 26th, 2016 at 08:44

I wouldn’t go anywhere near anything that has the Trump name. I’d sooner sleep on a park bench than stay in a Trump hotel. I’d drink bleach rather than Trump water. I’d eat liver before I ate a Trump steak. And I hate liver.

        • The Original Just Me September 26th, 2016 at 11:14

How about using toilet paper with Trumps face picture on it ???

        • Suzanne McFly September 26th, 2016 at 18:56

Wow, you put a lot of thought into that post, didn’t you lol.

      • The Original Just Me September 26th, 2016 at 11:17

I though that was a Wart . :+) Hummm, My Wrong.

  5. David Ish September 26th, 2016 at 13:44

Is the NYC now writing nothing but negative about Trump?

  6. Rick3 September 26th, 2016 at 13:47

I find it fascinating that liberals have nothing better to offer the American voter but insults, lies, and mental dysfunction.
The bigger question at hand is: Have all of you contacted your therapist?
You need some help and guidance to correct your hateful and hypocritical coprolite musings. Considering Hillary as the alternative I will gladly take Trump over her since she sold out America to Russia; failed miserably in foreign policy without a single documented successful outcome; was responsible for the death of four Americans; destroyed evidence of her misdealings; operates a foundation that is a pay2play gateway; and violated a score of national security laws and regulations. Is Hillary really who you want? If so then your minds have become as corrupt and insane as hers. Stop eating the liberal coprolite – it doesn’t work

    • DogsRgoodpeople September 26th, 2016 at 14:13

      100% coprolite

    • William September 26th, 2016 at 14:36

It is fascinating that Trump-sheep haven’t bothered to fat check a single thing Cheeto-face says.
Here you go Ricky let me know when you get through this one. There is more….lots more. http://www.forwardprogressives.com/debunking-anti-hillary-clinton-myths-lies-conspiracies/?utm_campaign=shareaholic&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=socialnetwork

    • oldfart September 26th, 2016 at 14:59

      Hovered over your avatar,
      You’ve summed it up nicely.
      No further questions.

      • Hirightnow September 26th, 2016 at 20:34

“Retired asshole”….isn’t that a euphemism for anally retentive?

        • oldfart September 26th, 2016 at 23:28

that and “get off my lawn”

    • bpollen September 26th, 2016 at 15:44

Wow, you totally convinced me. I’m going to emulate your position. All I need is a prefrontal lobotomy and I can be down for Trump too.

      • Hirightnow September 26th, 2016 at 20:33

I can sell you an icepick with Trump’s face etched into the handle…
(Just go to my website and enter the keywords “Trump Supporter Starter Pack” in the searchbar; you’ll also receive a pocket constitution containing Mr.Trump’s interpretation of the 12 articles in the Constitution, a miniature Confederate flag, a 8X12 glossy of Donald himself, standing alongside one of freedoms greatest advocates, President Vladamir Putin, and a form to fill out to automatically deduct your “Make America Great Again” contribution to the Mar-a-Lago charitable fund from your bank account.)

        • bpollen September 27th, 2016 at 03:14

My Gawd, dude, you’re a lifesaver!

Here’s my bank account number: 5… something.

    • Jungle_Bhoy September 26th, 2016 at 19:50

I don’t need to contact a therapist – I just contact my broker and kvell over what Obama and Hillary’s economy (as your lot are so fond of saying) has done for my 401k. Thank you Obama! Thank you Hillary!

    • Hirightnow September 26th, 2016 at 20:26

Trump is the KING of “pay to play”, pal…you’ve just been led to believe that you matter to him.

    • whatthe46 September 26th, 2016 at 20:36

you’ve just described tRump! furthermore, did you ever bitch about this: https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/7c07f010bcb9c446bb2191a306fa7c8adbae89b7cfdb842a5be12bdd94dd9707.jpg
      didn’t think so.

  7. Ned Nutley September 26th, 2016 at 15:37

I agree with them and will vote straight ticket Democratic!

  8. Ned Nutley September 26th, 2016 at 15:39

The Don close in the polls? that would mean around
half the people in the country are prepared to take
America back to recession and worldwide
“carpet bombing” wars, and for what reason? to make
things better and richer for the 400 families who
currently own this country? maybe get them to
    own 100% ?

  9. Mike N. September 26th, 2016 at 16:44

Unfortunately this is sure to fall on deaf ears.

  10. Willys41 September 27th, 2016 at 09:49

Trump knows NOTHING on any subject critical to the presidency and his gang of so-called “advisors” are collected from the lunatic fringe. Even when he quotes numbers that are in some sense “accurate” it turns out on closer examination that the numbers are months or years out of date.
