    Like hearing Alan…good interviews, on point commentary; turn sound down when a caller disagrees–he won’t let ’em finish a sentence, constantly interrupts. He should let them make their point, then counter it.

      I’ve been listening to Alan’s radio show for at least a decade and for several years was a regular caller. There are a few subjects where he will get short, as you describe, but by and large he lets callers speak more than just about any other host covering politics I have heard (and I’ve been a radiophile since the late 60s).
      Indeed, one of the better parts of his shows are when Joe the Woman Hater calls in and Alan let’s him rant.
      Another great thing about his show is the minimal screening. I called in dozens of times to the regular part of the show and I doubt I ever waited on hold for more than a half an hour. I’d guess the average wait time was between 10 and 15 minutes, during which I occasionally had some interesting conversations with his staff.
      Back when the Chat Room was at its peak, we used to watch the live feed of the show and discuss it among ourselves as well as calls we would make. Alan would occasionally drop in.
      It was always a gas to post, “I’m on,” when our call went through and the rest of us had only a short wait till the caller was punched up.

      Like I said, there are a few topics Alan will interrupt a caller on, as you described but the overwhelming majority is just the opposite. Keep listening, you’ll see.
      Also, remember Alan has a screen in front of him that shows callers in line and he may cut a call short to get to someone really interesting like Gay Randy, Joe the Woman Hater or me, Burq from Stafford.

      Give him a break, he’s an outstanding host and many would improve dramatically if they treated callers as well as Alan. I don’t think you can ask much more from him.

      Oh, and mark your calendar and be sure to tune in on Christmas Eve. I won’t say why, just do it and make a note to post a thanks here to me for telling you to do so. There’s something special that Alan plays every Christmas Eve that is a stone cold gas…..

        Tony Kornheiser, the former Wash Post sportswriter, for years had a call in show on radio in Washington. If anyone started with “How you doing?” he would play a recording of Charlie Steiner (ESPN) saying “Banned from the Tony Kornheiser Show!” No exceptions.

    Just came back from the store, there was a guy there with a 427 SS Impala on a trailer that made me want to actually kill someone for a car.
    It was so sweet, and I almost had my escape route planned when the guy told me that his mother had bought it for his father, because he had had one back in the day.

    Trump now shooting his mouth off about Serbs. His entire “international policy” has been straight from the mouth of the Putin/Kremlin machine. Trump has not an iota of knowledge of much of anything, and it is apparent that he is a stooge for the Russians.
    This should scare everyone.
