This comment is for Alan,or his staff.Could someone please find out why comments on this site,will be posted and then “disappear”? Sometimes they reappear agaln,sometimes not.Is it a flaw occuring in disqus? Had another one of mine vanish today.Thanks for checking if possible.

How can disqus delete posts on this site after they’re posted and show that they have been posted, it doesn’t make any sense. Sounds more like it’s on your end. I posted earlier and it was disappeared so what’s the point of posting at all.

No comment of yours appears in the “Deleted” section of the dashboard, either.
Go to your profile. Can you find the comment? If not, then there may have been an error in communication between your browser and Disqus, such as the comment not being sent. Disqus may also just be glitching…I can’t tell you for sure. Any explanation I might give would be long and filled with guesses.
If you find it, but it’s marked in red, it WAS deleted, possibly because it was seen by the filters as spam (you don’t show up in the SPAM section, either, unless you’re that cute blonde with the high-paying gig at home who didn’t believe how much her cousin’s neighbor’s mom was making…)
I can only work with what I have, and as no post of yours or Gary’s shows up as being moderated, I have to assume that they didn’t make it here.

You read a post in the forums, and decide that you must reply to some idjit.
You type a well thought-out response to the idjit, with or without links to videos or pictures of cat memes.
You hit “Post as Gary Parillo”
Disqus sees that you that you posted a comment, and goes through its usual algorithms to put your wisdom onto alan.com
Disqus sends a request to alan.com, expecting a reply in a certain format. (Either the request or the reply are suspect at this point)
One or the other website gets confused, for, let’s call them “reasons”
Rather than post what either site may see as “gibberish”, either site says”Nope! Not gonna.”
Sometimes, all that it takes is a space, or a transposed number.
I wish I could be of more help, but sometimes, you just have to accept that the interwebs is doofy.)

Lol.I don’t think your 200% wrong.Only Trump fits that description.Sounds about right 2 me.Several months ago I had a problem with alternet site.Some comments were flagged as spam.I thought spam was something people eat.Not me.Found out my syntax was most likely why.Used alot of capital letters,and didn’t break properly.To this day I dont know if they fixed the problem over there.Just gave up on them.

Automatic flags are a response from the specific site, But you SHOULD still show up under the “SPAM” section on the dashboard.
I think it”s Disqus.
(If you log in to alan.com, instead of Disqus, this ight go away…but you’re starting a separate account, and your past comments won’t be in your history.)
Disqus is aware of this, but seems to have no impetus to change it; you can’t consolidate the two accounts.

Yes.I’m ptretty sure my friend logged me in to alan.com.I’ve never had any spam problems on this site,except once when I forgot and used alot of capital letters for emphasis.Alans site seems to work ptetty good except for this bizzare disappearing&reappearing at times.That has’nt happened for a little while now,hopefully they corrected it.Do actual humans ever look into these problems,or is itcall done by computer programs?

WHEW! I thought it was an acid flashback playing tricks on me.
This is the only place run by Disqus I use, and it happens to me, too. Not often, and it can be annoying. Usually if I clear my history, doing so will kick me offa the site and when I log back on and trudge my way to the thread in question, there it will be. I consider that to be good news, knowing it will be there and others will see my comment, though I can’t, temporarily. So I consider it more of a minor annoyance, generally a little less bothersome than a mosquito bite…

It seems to help, but I can’t tell if that’s just me being self-deluded or not.
Back when Viafoura ran the site, that was the only solution they had to everything being dreadfully slow.
That’s the biggest problem here for me – it takes forever to do anything. I just now timed it and from the time I saw your comment and clicked on it, it took 9 minutes before I could get to your post to reply.
Used to be you could zip around here bingo bango jimmy jung jango, but no more. Not only are there endless waits for pages to download but they keep adding pages to artificially pump up click and page-view totals.
It used to be when I logged on it would go straight to the front page which had a menu of recent posts and with one click I’d be right there. Now I gotta wade through about 5 screens instead of one in order to do the same thing.
Viafoura was a mess, but then you guys showed up and everything went fast again. I recall being skeptical and having an exchange with Obewon about it and how nice it was for everything working quickly.
Well, technical-wise, Disqus has gotten even slower than Viafoura was.
Outweighing the hassles is having you, Anomoly, Carla Akins, MeaMark and the other moderators present, taking care of business and doing so very, very well.

Hey Gary, I find that when dealing with computers and the web crossing your fingers is the best approach. trial and error works best for me. I only recently learned how to post pictures, like this one.

Neither…I used MS Edge that came with windows ten. I’m really a technophobe when it comes to this stuff…of coarse when I did that, the old adblock wasn’t there, I had to search for adblock for windows ten turned it on and everything works and after using the chat room last nite, I figured out how it works and why I thought I was going crazy…now on to posting music !

I am not making this up.
FYI to get to Fairfax from Fredericksburg will take an hour in the highway if traffic is average….

For those of you that have not already done so – you need to watch the series Stranger Things . If you don’t have Netflix, I believe they offer the first month free, otherwise it is imperative that you beg, borrow or steal a Netflix password and watch this series. Eight episodes. If nothing else it absolutely nails the 80’s decade. It’s not just Winona Ryder’s best role ever, it makes you believe she’s a real actress.

My wife fell in love with that show with Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Sam Waterston and Martin Sheen – Grace & Frankie.
If you don’t know it, the premise is: Lily and Jane get divorced from their husbands and the husbands enter into a gay relationship. Everybody is great, but it is hysterical watching Sheen and Waterston play a gay couple.
