Girls with lemonade stand raise $10K for Dallas police

The two young girls are part of growing support for the police in the Dallas community.

…two young girls, 12-year-old Lauren Roach and 11-year-old Landry Nelon, who dropped off a check for $10,000 — money they raised in just two days with a lemonade stand in North Dallas.

“We felt really bad for all the victims’ families,” said Lauren. “At first we thought we would get about $100, but after we got to about $5,000, we realized we could really get this really high.”

“We just really feel that every little penny counted,” Landry added.

    Is that even possible?

Congrats to the little girls for helping the cops families.

Just don’t tell trump about this kind of profit, please.

If three black kids raised money for the families of victims killed by the police they would be labeled terrorist race baiting dividers…and yes, it would be Obama’s fault.

Oh I don’t think so. Not unless they implied they approved of attacks on po-lice and used that “any means necessary” rhetoric….

As always, we see the world thru our own experiences…let’s just say the police haven’t been that friendly to me over the last 66 years.
As a kid (8) my first meeting with a cop was being struck with a club in the small of my back for not moving along fast enough…as an adult I’ve been stopped, searched, frisked, handcuffed to the bumper of a cruiser, locked in the back of a vehicle for hours, numerous times for no reason whatsoever other than being told I was snippy or I looked suspicious driving a late model vehicle…I have never been convicted of a crime in my life, no arrests, no warrants, I own my home, and I pay my bills, I served in the military, and I work in the community…just like a lot of other people…I had a cop once hold my license up to the sun and declare it was fake…

Info released today about Castile showed he was pulled over 54 times in the last 12 years…about 4 times a year. His only major citation was driving without insurance and he had no prior arrests…A US Senator from SC admitted to being stopped 7 times in the last year alone…2 of those times he was with another member of the senate on Capital grounds and the officer said he was just checking to see if everything was OK…code for checking he wasn’t being robbed or kidnapped.

Cruise down the videos in this link from the actions of the BRPD and look at all those teenagers, young adults, old women and men, white and black being treated like wild animals because the dared to speak out against something that didn’t even happen to them…

If police don’t want us to paint them with that broad brush maybe they should stop targeting us for no reason…we have a saying in my house…don’t ever call the cops for help.

I’d like to do nuance, but it’s tough when as little as 4 months ago I was stopped coming off university property, detained for 20 minutes, and forced to tell an officer 40 years my junior where I was coming from, going to, and what I did for a living that I could drive a car like that. I drive a crappy 3 year old Lexus…

Fine young ladies. There IS hope our children can have a better life.

      Yes indeed.
It’s a nice gesture and I’d add that the po-lice needs to hear of our appreciation more often. After all, they spend a lot of time with people who are having a rotten day cuz they just got cited for something or got busted for something else…
