Of course, it’s the media’s fault in Donald Trump’s world.

…Trump via Twitter Monday denied that a tweet he posted Saturday that featured Hillary Clinton and a Star of David was anti-Semitic.

Trump blamed the media for depicting his tweet as anti-Semitic and said the the star shape that labeled Clinton “corrupt” in the original tweet was a “plain star” or a “sheriffs star.”

Ed Brookover, a senior advisor to Trump’s campaign, expressed a similar defense of the tweet on CNN’s New Day on Monday morning, saying that the tweet was never meant to be anti-Semitic and that people should move on to what he views as more important things.

“There was never any intention of any anti-semitism,” he said, as reported by The Hill. “Mr. Trump has consistently and loudly denounced the white supremacist groups.

Trump doesn’t explain, then why he deleted the tweet, or why the image was taken from a white supremacist, anti-Semitic message board.

    Donnie continues to play the role of the poor, maligned victim of a conspiring press corps out to damage his credibility.
    He is now asserting that the entire controversy is the result of the news media trying to turn an innocent tweet into something more sinister.

    Team Trump is completely ignoring the source of the original meme and is in denial that it was copied from a neo-Nazi, white supremacist web site.

    Two phrases that you will never hear uttered by Trump with even an iota of sincerity:
    “I’m sorry” and “I was wrong”.

    Had Trump simply accepted responsibility for the screw-up, this story would have gone away by now:
    “My bad. We totally f*cked up. Our sincerest apologies. Steps are being taken to assure it won’t happen again.”

    Of course, if Donald ever makes such an announcement, be on the lookout for winged porcine overhead.

      In right-wing world apologies and admittance of errors are a sign of weakness. To Republicans, being called a “pussy” is worse than being considered a racist, xenophobe or idiot.

      remember what he said, he never, ever apologizes for anything he’s done, because that would mean he’s weak. with or without apologizes, he’s of course very weak minded. also, don’t you realize if he would, that, that would be a daily occurrence. hell, an hourly occurrence.

    It took him 37 hours to send a condolence tweet re: Elie Wiesel, of course it took him two days to address this. It’s not like he has a campaign staff or adult children that fully grasp social media….

    I’ll give him this – it probably takes up a lot of his time finding white supremacist tweets worth retweeting, whining about how badly he’s treated, configuring that gerbil-helmet, making that fish-faced pucker in the mirror… It takes work to be the best.
