Calls to Leave United Nations Get Louder in the USA

The proposed law, introduced in numerous legislative session of Congress in recent decades, would also end all funding to the UN and all of its agencies. The legislation also aims to end all US military involvement in UN military «peacekeeping» schemes and ban United States troops from serving under UN command. Finally, the bill would seek to evict the UN from US soil. It would also ban any use of American government facilities by the global outfit, while stripping UN officials and dignitaries of diplomatic immunity.

Sounds like a good idea to me, we could save millions.

      • 17 June 30th, 2016 at 14:13

I don’t know about the savings, but for all the good the UN does in the world, it sure seems to be pretty toothless sometimes, especially when it comes to dealing with terrorism-sponsoring nations like the U.S. and that tiny sliver of a country in the Middle East that leads us around by the nose. You know the one…Palestine.

U.S Democratic National Convention: Platform for Deception – Democrats at Work

The Sanders campaign has more than enough principled reasons to resist conventional political wisdom and carry on its campaign at least into convention floor fights and street demonstrations, not least because Democrats are acting as if they want only to co-opt Sanders supporters and send the Sanders political revolution down the memory hole.

    The Collapse of Western Democracy
    Paul Craig Roberts

Democracy no longer exists in the West. In the US powerful private interest groups, such as the military-security complex, Wall Street, the Israel Lobby, agribusiness and the extractive industries of energy, timber and mining, have long exercised more control over government than the people. But now even the semblance of democracy has been abandoned.

in your photo program, there should be a choice of how you want to export. it is different for each program. I use lightroom for all my editing. When I want to use a photo, I first have to convert it to jpeg, it is at this point I can tell it what size to make it, and save it to My Photos on the desktop. There may be an option within your program to “save as”, then a box pops up that asks where you want to save it…”my photos” and then it may have a box asking what format, and what size…I am only guessing as I only have used Photoshop and Lightroom…I am still learning windows 10…and I think their built in photo editor can do that…but then again, I have a box of old 8tracs that I can’t listen to…

          • oldfart July 1st, 2016 at 18:22

Thanks for your help i think i got it now.
            8tracs huh…I still have cassettes.
all my 8tracs got eaten :(

‘Spooked’ Author Discusses Chronicle Of CIA Influence On Press And Hollywood

The Central Intelligence Agency constantly attempts to manipulate journalism on the global security state. It is part of the DNA of the spy agency to spread propaganda and spur debates undermining the truth. Yet, all too often, establishment media organizations,
including their most prominent reporters, are willing accomplices in the CIA’s efforts to prevent certain stories from being told.

No Lesser Evil, Not this Time

What we are deciding is to vote for the cause or the effect. Hillary and neoliberalism/neoconservativism in general are the cause of the Trump-style authoritarian populism that now haunts the US. There is little evidence that Hillary is a lesser evil, that her presidency will cause less harm. Actually, it seems we are damned if we do and damned if we don’t with no less damneder a situation on the horizon. Hillary’s presidency would solidify much of neoliberalism and imperialism, and continue to buttress the corrupt, rotten formal institutions of our society.

Your Ad Hominem attacks on Hillary Clinton are boring and tedious, not to mention from nefarious sources. I wish the mods would clear out all the debris.

We like 17, he’s at home here. Even if sometimes he oversteps, like a spoiled brat… I think we should remember Alan.com threads receive people very much to the left of Hillary and lets them talk.

Weaponized Water: Israel Cuts off Palestinian Access to Their Own Water Supplies

According to an experienced reporter on Palestine, 50 percent of the water to a city of 40,000 people has been cut off during Ramadan, a time “when people need to have access to food and water more than any other time.”

Homeland Security to Travelers: “Can We See Your Social Media Profile, Please?”

File this under Another Unsettling Development: People who want to travel to the United States may soon have their Facebook profiles and other social media accounts “vetted” by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) before entering.

Isn’t it funny, how “Homeland Security” rhymes with “Gestapo”?

i cant say this isnt a bad idea since lately some have posted their intent to shoot it up before they did it. ( as stupid as it may sound )

      • 17 July 1st, 2016 at 19:59

Everything sounds like a great idea, until you’re stopped at the border while traveling from New York to Pennsylvania so they can download your laptop while you await your “vetting”. After all, if Uncle Sam can do it, why can’t William Penn?
Or how ’bout Officer Friendly? Shouldn’t he also be able to do an on-the-spot vetting while giving you a ticket for that tailight you forgot was out?
See where this goes? Infringed rights are never returned.

        • oldfart July 1st, 2016 at 20:50

Continuing to ask out of country tourists for that info will have an impact on tourism. Being american I know I have no privacy, still doesn’t mean I like it but it is what it is.
          “Infringed rights are never returned”
The “Patriot Act” will be here forever and all that will change will be how uglier it could get.
