Flip-flopped on Heaven

That’s the one thing that may get the evangelicals. But so far, it hasn’t, sadly.

In a Chicago Tribune article from 1989 (which Buzzfeed actually discovered just under a week ago), Donald Trump reveals that he “doesn’t believe in reincarnation, heaven, or hell.” As far as the DNC is concerned, though, it’s Trump’s apparent lack of faith in God’s eternal kingdom, specifically, that’s damning enough for use as ammo…

This, of course, would go against the official beliefs of the Presbyterian church, a church that Donald Trump insists he belongs to. As the one-time denier of heavenly rewards said back in October, “I’m Presbyterian. Can you believe it? Nobody believes I’m Presbyterian. I’m Presbyterian. I’m Presbyterian. I’m Presbyterian.”

The dossier also nails Trump for flip-flopping on his heaven-related beliefs since entering the Presidential race. In November, when asked if Trump believed in such a place, Trump offered a definitive “yes” before adding that he hopes to go there.

“I’m Presbyterian. Can you believe it? Nobody believes I’m Presbyterian. I’m Presbyterian. I’m Presbyterian. I’m Presbyterian.”
    (actual quote).

I heard he was a Presbyterian, can you believe it?

      • spacegod June 15th, 2016 at 20:04

        Nobody believes he is Presbyterian.

        • Suzanne McFly June 16th, 2016 at 09:39

I know I can’t believe it, my mind has been blown!!!!!!!!!

      • Richard Banville June 16th, 2016 at 02:46

        A Presbyterian? Really? No way…

      • clemans June 16th, 2016 at 04:20

I never believe him about anything unless I verify it for myself. I bet you don’t believe him either…..smiles

        • Suzanne McFly June 16th, 2016 at 09:43

The only problem is, he isn’t even worth verifying from my perspective. I figure everything he says are lies, you lie to me once, everything after that lie should be questioned.

          • clemans June 16th, 2016 at 18:07

Trump is being talked about on the news, my husband is watching it, and he just said that Trump was a f-cking…..idiot. In over 37 yrs, that is the first time he has ever said f-cking when I was present……wow.

Everybody lies, everyday for the most part….it isn’t the lying it is the type of lie. If my girlfriend asks if those pants make her butt look big, I will ask her what she needs to hear, then with all the sincerity one can muster, I tell her just what she needs to hear with no reservations. Women lie to prevent others from feeling bad, men lie most often to make themselves look good.

I think that maybe Trump lies so much because he really is very insecure, maybe he really knows he is a blithering idiot and is trying to compensate and fool himself. He probably lies hes share, most of mine and yours and for thousands of others….like so many things, he seems to think everything belongs to him, even the monopoly on lies.

            • Suzanne McFly June 16th, 2016 at 18:31

Definitely, I will lie so I won’t be kicked. I also lie in a way that I would want to be lied to. I try not to ask people questions like that anymore, it isn’t a good place to put your friends in. But those are lies done in a way to lessen pain, rump’s lies do just like you said, they make him look better in his eyes. The world (at least 99% of it) knows he is lying, but he lives in a bubble and that needle is coming in November. Congrats on marrying one of the smart ones :)

you are so right, better in HIS eyes……because he can’t even look good in my eyes.

You’re not alone with that thought lol.

Two Corinthians walk into a bar……(his favorite passage)

      • Buford2k11 June 15th, 2016 at 19:49

ummm…it goes like this….Two Corinthians and a Philistine walk into a bar…The bouncer throws them all out, yelling “this is a Trump Towers all White Bar”…the moral of this story is…Never let a Philistine open a bar tab…

    • Larry Schmitt June 15th, 2016 at 20:07

How people can hear this crap and not walk the other way, I will never understand.

    • whatthe46 June 16th, 2016 at 02:53

and that’s the whole ballgame, cause he doesn’t know a damn thing about it. so, tRump, what happened in this ballgame? don’t leave us hangin.

    • Richard Banville June 16th, 2016 at 03:08

I’m sure that Presbyterians all over the world are a bit more ashamed today.

      • whatthe46 June 16th, 2016 at 03:18

Truth be told, I don’t think evangelicals care what Trump believes in regard to Christianity. They just want to win control of the government and appear to be more than willing to put their religious beliefs on the back-burner to achieve this goal. Russell Moore, a prominent Southern Baptist leader, has denounced Trump and has tried to reveal to evangelicals that Trump is not who he says he is when it comes to Christianity. Last week, Moore called Trump “a lost soul who must repent.” Good luck with that, Mr. Moore, because Trump is on the record admitting that he doesn’t feel he has to ever ask God for forgiveness because he never thinks he does anything wrong.

he sure as hell did say that. and no one who says they love and read the bible like tRump says he does and called “it was a gotcha question” when asked what was his favorite verse. it took him months to say, an eye for an eye. and i bet he doesn’t know how to complete the saying.

    • Larry Schmitt June 15th, 2016 at 20:06

That last one about never asking forgiveness would be the kicker for me if I were a Christian. Anyone raised as a Christian knows that humans sin, and have to ask forgiveness. Anyone who doesn’t follow that is not a Christian.

      • whatthe46 June 15th, 2016 at 21:07

and anyone who molest children and repent and is also forgiven by their fellow “chritians” only to do it again, and again, ain’t no Christian period. they use that “forgiveness” b.s. as an excuse to keep doing what they do.

Maybe he just changed his mind. He does that daily.

  4. Obewon June 15th, 2016 at 21:02

“I’m Presbyterian. Can you believe it? Nobody believes I’m Presbyterian….” C’mon fess up! Drumpf is obviously a secret Muslim, trying to hide his real Imam and dad.

  5. ohpaleasegivemeabreak June 15th, 2016 at 21:23

The more he repeats is, the more likely that it is a major lie.

  6. fahvel June 16th, 2016 at 02:57

one might hope that there really is a heaven – guaranteeing that trump would rot in hell.

    • whatthe46 June 16th, 2016 at 03:02

it’s so damn funny for someone to say they’ve been christian all their lives, while not believing in heaven or hell. until today, and these die hard “christian” idiots believe he does now.

      • clemans June 16th, 2016 at 04:16

I would argue that the diehard Christians who support Trump really aren’t Christians but in name only and IF there was a god, they would hear the words…..”I know you not” when their judgment day arrives. And I agree with you about the “damn funny”.
