Dog sworn in to Colorado police department
The two-year-old lab is now an official “comfort dog”.
Click here for reuse options! The dog, named Pilot, gave a resounding ‘woof!’ when he was asked whether he promised to carry out his job to comfort the victims of crime, as best he can.
It was down to Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock to conduct the dog’s oath of office, and he managed to keep new recruit’s attention with a clever use of doggy treats.
During the investiture ceremony, Sheriff Spurlock asked Pilot if he ‘solemnly swore to be a comfort dog for the citizens of Douglas County to the best of his skill and ability’.

A good friend has a yellow lab. Me and my dog pick her up and take her hiking with us quite often. Two hours of non-stop running off leash might define ‘a dog worn in’

We need to stop the anthropomorphism of animals….
It’s a dog, not a human…
Stop pretending it has human attributes, or answers questions when asked..
it has no idea it is being “sworn in” and all it expects is a treat when this display of human stupidity is over.
