Federal court tells Christian group they can’t call evolution a religion
A Kansas Christian group claimed evolution was religious “indoctrination” and shouldn’t be taught in schools.
Click here for reuse options! After the state of Kansas adopted Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in 2013, Citizens for Objective Public Education (COPE) argued that teaching science without a religious explanation for the creation of the universe would indoctrinate children into atheism…
But the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver last week upheld a lower court’s ruling which said that COPE lacked standing to bring the suit because it could not show that it had been harmed.

Only a RWNJ would think science is a religion.

You mean it’s not? Isn’t Darwin a god?

Another misnamed group. “Objective?” There’s nothing less objective than religion.

I say go one step further and tell the religious they cannot call creationism “intelligent design”. They adopted that term because they thought it made belief in a deity sound scientific. Attributing thunderstorms to an invisible man in the sky is not considered science.

The one thing creationism is not is intelligent.

Those idiots equating science and religion. These same idiots are doing what they fear monger about Muslims of doing, indoctrinating society/kids to follow their own religion. Let me guess, by “religion”, they only want to include the Christian explanation of creation with science…and say…not the Hindu.

Evolution can be cruel.

But if we teach the Christian creation myth, we have to allow the teaching of ALL other creation myths. Some are quite sexual.
