Tennessee transgender bathroom bill dead

Maybe they’re getting the message that it won’t fly with businesses.

The House sponsor of a bill that would require students in public school grades K-12 and higher education institutions to use the restroom that corresponds with their sex at birth is killing the controversial legislation.

Rep. Susan Lynn, R-Mt. Juliet, said Monday she plans on delaying any action on the highly contentious measure in an effort to further study the issue.

“I have learned that our school districts are largely following what the bill says,” she said while inside her office at the Capitol on Monday. “I am still absolutely 100 percent in support of maintaining the privacy of all students. But I’m going to roll the bill over until next year so we can work on those issues.”

Didn’t Tennessee just turn down a bill that wanted to make the Bible the official state book?

I’m glad they’re showing some sense…don’t drink it often, but I’d hate it if I had boycott Jack Daniels…

it’s not “common sense” in the way you’re likely thinking. that it’s just wrong and shouldn’t be done. it’s about money and nothing more.

Oh, I agree…common sense is non existent in southern state legislatures…in fact’s absent in most state legislatures.

“Rep. Susan Lynn, R-Mt. Juliet, said Monday she plans on delaying any
action on the highly contentious measure in an effort to
further study the issue.” it’s the money honey. what this asshat wants to study is the amount of money that’s being loss in NC and if it’s worth it. common sense is that this is NOT about religious freedom, this is nothing more than discrimination period. if it’s truly about “religious freedom” and that’s soooooo important, than she wouldn’t put it on hold. when money talks, religion doesn’t mean jack!

Money is big in religion, too. That’s why religion and politics make such good bedfellows. God will forgive any sin – for a price.
