I might argue that Puett has presented us with a conundrum…
His claim that ancient philosophers believed “… you should actually be training yourself to respond in ways that could affect situations for the better.” is in itself, a subjective statement…something philosophers go to pains to avoid…
What’s better…??? What’s good and what’s bad….??? It’s different for every person on the planet and can only be defined in the broadest of terms….
Logic would dictate I fix myself before I try to fix others…
