Anther artist won’t appear in North Carolina because of its anti-LGBT law.

Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr has canceled an upcoming show in North Carolina in protest of the state’s anti-LGBT legislation. The show was set for June 18 at the Koka Booth Amphitheater in Cary. “I’m sorry to disappoint my fans in the area, but we need to take a stand against this hatred,” Starr said of the new law that prohibits local ordinances against gender identity-based discrimination. “Spread peace and love.”

    Thanks Ringo!
Bit by bit we’ll chip away the bigotry and hatred of the conservatives until it’s gone.

As a lifelong Beatles fan, I cannot help but wonder if Pete Best (the drummer Ringo replaced), has come to terms with the immense fame and fortune that slipped through his fingers when John and Paul fired him less than a year and a half before their world changing appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show.

Everything I have read about the events leading up to Ringo becoming the 4th and final permanent member of the band indicate that it was not actually a musical decision.

Lennon allegedly said that Pete Best was a better drummer, but but Ringo would be a better Beatle.

With George Martin’s passing, the obits mentioned that the decision was his to replace Pete Best. http://ultimateclassicrock.com/beatles-pete-best-lawsuit/

But, this isn’t quite accurate. Martin didn’t want Best on their first record, but he also didn’t demand Best’s ouster from the group. The other Beatles used Martin’s request as a pretext for having Brian Epstein fire Best from the group. Best did not exactly endear himself to the other Beatles by being standoffish and not looking like a Beatle with his conventional haircut and suit.

Time has shown it was a fortuitous decision to axe Best and hire Starr. Nobody drummed like Ringo with the Beatles, and rock music benefitted from his contributions.

Being able to get along is important in all assets of life. The Beatles were young and maybe naïve but they understood this.

when a reporter once asked if ringo was the best drummer in the business, john replied, “ringo’s not even the best drummer in the beatles.” there’s some controversy about whether he actually said this. he did say it. he was joking, as he was wont to do.
george said that in retrospect it may look like they did pete wrong, but history has also proven that ringo was the right drummer, that he came into the story at the right time and place.
brian epstein asked ringo to join the band, but george martin had already hired another drummer for the demo recording, and ringo never let him forget about it. “you didn’t let me play, did you?” the fans at the cavern were divided into pro-pete and pro-ringo. however, when the record album was actually made for distribution, that’s ringo playing.
everybody should run out and buy the complete beatles anthology set.
      beatles forever.

His actual words were…”No thank you please it only makes me sneeze….”

Time for McCrory to announce another “executive order clarification,” not that the first one changed anything. He’s trying to save face, and as the pressure builds, he’s “stuck between a rock and a hard place.”

I’m all for the distant Feds busting his LYING THIEVING ‘christian’ butt. I would say Feds in general but it appears the ones in NC are just as corrupt as the locals.

keep it coming WORLD – and remember McCrory is a LYING THIEF ‘christian’ that makes his corporate deals behind locked closed doors WITHOUT any conscience at all!
PS: send a ‘howdy howdy’ to the new hand picked corrupt Industrial Commissioners too!
