Trump: Muslims are ‘protecting each other’ and not reporting the bad ones
Here he is painting with a broad brush again against ‘Muslims” with no qualifier.
GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump accused Muslims of intentionally declining to report suspected terrorist activity in a Wednesday interview on ITV’s “Good Morning Britain.”
“When they see trouble, they have to report it. They are not reporting it; they are absolutely not reporting it, and that’s a big problem,” Trump told host Piers Morgan. The real estate tycoon’s remarks come a day after explosions allegedly set off by members of the Islamic State terrorist group killed 34 people and injured almost 200 others in Brussels.
Trump argued Muslim communities could have done more to prevent Tuesday’s attack, as well as the December shooting rampage in San Bernardino, California, which was carried out by a married couple with ties to ISIS.
“It’s like they’re protecting each other, but they’re really doing very bad damage, and they have to open up to society,” Trump continued. “They have to report the bad ones.”

In fact, a lot of the intel that results in foiling terrorism plots comes from the Muslim Community. Here’s a list from 2001-2012:

He probably never heard of Abu Azrael and all the crazy youtube videos they have out…he claims to have killed 1500 ISIS guys himself
He’s a freakin national heron in the war v ISIS and Trump doesn’t know who he is…just goes to show you how we only see this war through our lens…

Thanks for this post. It illustrates the tangled web that is Middle East religion, politics and conflict. I noticed that the vast majority of the equipment Abu Azrael uses is US-made.

An AK or RPG are about the only foreign weapons you see these guys using, most everything is US made.
There are a bevy of these groups that post to youtube…all different factions and politics…most hate ISIS and the #1 claim is that they stole the religion…exactly different than we believe here.
That Vid should link you to all kinds of groups fighting in Stria, join some od their newsletters and get some wild footage of what this war is really like. Lots of cool interviews …man on the street kinda thing.

Abu Azreal is just another terrorist to Trump.
Roctuna March 23rd, 2016 at 20:18
And he was a terrorist to the US at one time and easily could be one again. To me, it shows why we should significantly disengage from the region. We’ll never understand the motivations or back the “winners”.

You are right…

You would need to stop looking at actions and focus on reasons to even begin to understand.
To some people, “terrorist” is just a word people use when they don’t understand why people are dying.
I’m not saying that’s excusable or logical reasoning, but it’s a thought process that should be taken into account.
The worst part is that, in certain situations, that could apply to both bona fide terrorists as well as humanitarian rebels, either one just as easily as the other.
Which is to say, in another way to put it, Rick Grimes vs Negan (if you’re a Walking Dead fan) or Rebels vs Empire (Star Wars [natch]).
And to me, the thing about all of this is… what do we do?
What is it that… we …can do?
For me… that’s voting for and supporting Sanders in the presidential campaign.
I’m too old to join the military (not that I like war, jus sayin is all) and too busy with family to be able dedicate time to much else besides voting, campaign contributions and comments on the internet… and a bumper magnet (yeah, not a sticker… because immediately after the election you look like a douche).

Fully behind your ideas on voting out the war mongers. I believe fundamentally Americans do not favor war (despite the Drumpf phenomenon) but our govm’t is so dominated by the MIC and profiteers that war-making has become a juggernaut that’s next to impossible to stop.
We never take the time to understand the reasons for terrorism. I don’t want to hug ISIS or anything but it’s always seemed to me that working to eliminate the reasons would be more effective than trying to carpet bomb a guerilla army. That just gives them another reason.

Liberals need to stand up for liberal principles. Liberal principles, like freedom of speech, freedom to practice any religion you want without fear of violence, freedom to leave a religion, equality for women, equality for minorities, including homosexuals. These are liberal principles that liberals applaud for, but then when you say in the Muslim world this is what’s lacking, then they get upset. This is illiberal, and borderline evil in its complacency.

Well, that was certainly a lot of assumption.
