i hope there’s a case for a suit here. furthermore, on behalf of decent Americans, i’m sorry for what you were put through.

She’s a heartless bitch for wanting to open a bank account? WTF is wrong with people any more? Thanks gop for unleashing the paranoid bigot hidden in so many.

How much you wanna bet the ones sending her the offensive messages are “christians?”

The bank robbers where wearing Donald trump masks and they were welcomed in.

It is very hard to tell which are bad guy masks and which are religious attire these days but the guys with the trump masks looked so honest.

As long as you can see her face…which you could…it’s clear this is blatant discrimination.

    • whatthe46 February 19th, 2016 at 20:25

of course it is. this is the GOPissers affect. racist, bigot pos.

Did it cover her face? (the article implied it did) than it could be considered a ‘mask’. You and I can not wear a mask into a bank and expect any different action.

.” In a statement, a bank representative said “our policy for all walk-in customers is to remove all face, eye and head coverings to allow our employees and security cameras to have a clear view of each person entering the bank. This is done in an effort to keep our employees and customers safe.”

The headline said “scarf” but the article referred to a hijab which I believe covers the face.

Usually a hijab is just a head scarf. But, as you say, the article is not clear.

I get irritated when journalists neglect the key information needed to understand the issue.

A hijab covers the hair not the face. It is wrapped around the head, over the neck and concealing a womens “beaty, her hair.

    • whatthe46 February 20th, 2016 at 00:41

she obliged them by removing her hijab, which covers the hair. the rest is history. they are a bunch of asses.

“…all face, eye and head coverings…” I think that would include baseball hats, sunglasses etc. If these are not enforced on all then yes, she was unfairly picked on.

The article is not clear on this.

I’m pro-Muslim but I have mixed-feelings the hijab and the burqah.

As feminist, I think it’s oppressive to demand that women be covered up.

As a liberal, I defend the right any religious person to dress as they want.

The only limitation would be if religious garb causes a demonstrably real problem.

It’s hard to think of scenarios where a simple headscarf is a problem. Maybe a fashion model?

Covering the whole face is obviously a bigger potential problem.

      What about yarmulkas?

      • Budda February 20th, 2016 at 07:33

Yarmulkas don’t cover any part of the face.

        • rg9rts February 20th, 2016 at 07:42

          neither did her scarf

          • Budda February 20th, 2016 at 09:33

are you sure? The article was not very clear on any of it, including was it just a scarf or was it a hijab?

Up here in the snow belt having a scarf on the head is common, at least it used to be so.
    Not the fashion these days.
