The bible makes an excellent door stop. Other than that, it’s about useless.
Bad at geology, terrible at math, totally useless for history, a waste of time using it for science of any kind. It’s not even a helpful tome for morality.
Don’t these fools ever read it?
Larry Schmitt February 17th, 2016 at 14:33
It’s great if you want to know what a cubit is.
Buford2k11 February 17th, 2016 at 11:49
Idaho Republicans needs someone to read the Constitution and Bill of Rights to them…seems these folks are as unhinged and deranged as they come…

I wonder if Sen. Sheryl Nuxoll realizes that the Golden Age of Islam is credited with the first systematised study of algebra?
I’m guessing not, and hoping for some astute teacher to bring a Koran to class.
anothertoothpick February 17th, 2016 at 14:07
You read too much TiredOldGuy.
Gina Bousquet February 17th, 2016 at 15:46

My VERY blue collar parents stressed education. Unfortunately I seem to be surrounded by blissfully ignorant high school dropouts in my so called golden years. Fortunately there are sites like this and like minded people like you to help keep me sane (somewhat).

I can tell you read a lot TiredOldGuy it shows in your posts.
And yes I agree with ypu about the people that post here.
And I, for one, am glad you listened to those “very blue collar parents ” of yours.
I read a lot too, nonfiction only, I haven’t read a novel in quite a while.
But here is something I do every day. I go to the Chicago Tribune archieve site and put in the days date and go back to 1955 and try to read forward to about 1969 of that date.
It is somewhat like reading history as it is reported in the newspaper.
It’s fun.

I used to do something similar, but working 4 days and volunteering a 5th has cut down on my “me time”. One pleasure I allowed myself over the past year has been rereading Greek & Roman mythology, and then tracing the stories through to the different world’s religions. It makes for a somewhat sadistic pleasure when pointing out the similarities to the evangelicals around me.
anothertoothpick February 17th, 2016 at 20:54
Whoa, Greek and Roman mythology. I didn’t know your blue collar parents were THAT serious. Hahahah
Whatever you do TiredOldGuy. …keep comming back to this site.

The xtian flock never ask about Romulus, but they sure seem to scream out “REAM US!” a lot…
{Sorry…just watched Deadpool® [IN THEATERS NOW! SEE IT WITH FRIENDS! AND FAMILY! AND MAYBE A HOMELESS PERSON; PAY FOR THEIR TICKET AND BASK IN THEIR APPRECIATION OF A FEW MINUTES OUT OF THE COLD!(Popcorn optional, but do you really want to be that guy?)], and my sense of humor is kinda wonky…}

How can anyone this stupid be allowed to govern anything?
anothertoothpick February 17th, 2016 at 13:57
Don’t forget this from the bible.
Genesis 2:7
Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.
Is that not what you want to teach your kids?
rg9rts February 17th, 2016 at 14:05
He was a coke head??
anothertoothpick February 17th, 2016 at 14:05
hahahahahahaha
Dust?
anothertoothpick February 17th, 2016 at 14:06

Gina Bousquet February 17th, 2016 at 13:31
It’s not a scientific text, Morons!!!
anothertoothpick February 17th, 2016 at 13:44
Yeah Gina, but the bible thumpers love this stuff.
Gina Bousquet February 17th, 2016 at 14:10

anothertoothpick February 17th, 2016 at 14:00
Hey Gina…not to change the subject, but did you enjoy Rio Carnivale?
Gina Bousquet February 17th, 2016 at 14:13
I used to dance a lot years ago, now I watch it on the TV. It’s impossible to be Brazilian and not to like carnival. :)
anothertoothpick February 17th, 2016 at 15:57
You used to dance at carnival? How cool is that?
My credo, if one has to have a credo, is He/she who has the most stories wins.
Gina Bousquet February 17th, 2016 at 16:10
Lol Everybody dances at carnival here, since early childhood! There are numberless carnival balls for children and for adults, besides the Samba schools parade.
anothertoothpick February 17th, 2016 at 16:20
Well, where I live, we used to dance in the basements to old Buddy Holly tunes.
Hahhahahahh
Gina Bousquet February 17th, 2016 at 16:23
That’s very good too! :)
Hirightnow February 17th, 2016 at 13:48

If Saint Ronnie said it, it must be true.
Larry Schmitt February 17th, 2016 at 15:26

SEE YOU IN COURT
mistlesuede February 17th, 2016 at 18:57
Let’s hope so.
Larry Schmitt February 17th, 2016 at 14:35
Using the bible to teach science is like using a Spanish dictionary to learn to speak Chinese.
mfr4 February 17th, 2016 at 15:04
There’s nothing in a 2,000 year old mistranslated, book of myths that can be used as a reference in a modern science classroom. Superman and batman are embedded in American culture too, but not as a tool to teach evolution and nuclear physics (although probably better than the bible because they do use technology that came from science, albeit comic book science).
maggie February 17th, 2016 at 16:22
it’s christian terrorism….;( period.
mistlesuede February 17th, 2016 at 18:56
“permitted to highlight biblical allusions”
Isn’t that supposed to say “delusions?”
Chris February 17th, 2016 at 19:35
Let me venture a guess that the numbnuts who passed this measure on have absolutely no knowledge of biology or geology.
fahvel February 18th, 2016 at 03:56
idaho has some beautiful rivers – or it used to.
Charlie Seivard February 19th, 2016 at 09:57
If these GOPs are the product of Idaho’s public schools, imagine how dumb the next generation will be.
