David Hirsch, a.k.a. Dave "Doctor" Gonzo*, is a renegade record producer, video producer, writer, reformed corporate shill, and still-registered lobbyist for non-one-percenter performing artists and musicians. He lives in a heavily fortified compound in one of Manhattan's less trendy neighborhoods.

* Hirsch is the third person to use the pseudonym, a not-so-veiled tribute to journalist and author Hunter S. Thompson, with the permission of his predecessors Gene Gaudette of American Politics Journal (currently webmaster and chief bottlewasher at Liberaland) and Stephen Meese at Smashmouth Politics.

Sounds like a lot of things will go in the favor of Democrats if the ties cause them to bounce back to lower courts. Cool!

And this simply proves the ridiculous nature of the court. The SCOTUS is a joke, since recently, it routinely rules most things on a 5/4 decision. Which only serves to prove that at least four members of the court are voting based on ideology not law. If all were voting based on law, every decision would be 9 to 0, in favor of the law. Not a 5/4 decision based on personal opinion.
