We the Suckers: The truth about US voters
I’ve got your weekend think piece right here!
Ben Fountain, writing in The Guardian, tells it like it is about the gullible American electorate:
Let the record reflect: the American people are a bunch of suckers. “Weapons of mass destruction.” “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.” “Read my lips.” “I am not a crook.” “We still seek no wider war.” And these whoppers are merely a sampling from a handful of recent presidents.
Fountain puts some thought-provoking historical perspective on the phenomenon, tracing the history of American credulity in the media era from “Pappy” O’Daniel to Joe McCarthy to the current crop of candidates. Go read!

They have so many shady statements made by leaders from the last 50 years, but not one of those statements can be placed on the current President. You would think someone that is so evil would have some criminal behavior they could pin on him and yet, they don’t .

That’s what makes him so hated by the right. They just can’t touch him and it kills them.

Thanks for posting this fine article, it should be read by all sentient Americans.
Everyone should be concerned about the very issues addressed here, as it seems that voter stupidity and media irresponsibility are at all time highs.
