Republicans are just so unwilling to leave the 1950’s on the abortion issue. Watch how they triple down on the PP issue in the next couple of days, after all they never accept facts. “Liberal justice system!” they’ll probably say. They just can’t stop stepping on their dicks (yes, Fiorina probably has one) and get on with the new century. So happy this whole PP BS story has backfired.
The huge problem with all this is that there has been so much damage done
to
Planned Parenthood. If these two crooks spend twenty years in jail it
will never pay for all the misery they bestowed on an organization that
was such a savior for so many women for so many years. There have always
been religious fanatics that caused trouble for PP, but this is the
worse I have ever seen. Many years ago, back in the 60’s and 70’s I
volunteered in the PP Clinic in Houston. We set up a program to go
into the Black communities in Houston to educate the women about
birth control pills and how they could get on lists where we would send
them out monthly supplies at no cost. . We made arrangements with
shops where we could hold our meetings. We did this for Sundays in the
afternoon when the women could come easily. After a few weeks we were
literally chased out of the black communities .Black Pastors started
screaming that we were trying to obliterate (for God’s sake! the black
race. The Pastors told black women they would all burn in hell for
eternity for taking birth control pills.. and that was the end of our
program.
After that, the Black Pastors went back to riding around in
their Cadillacs while the black women went through life scrubbing
white folks floor, always pregnant with children she could not afford to
feed. I am so tired of the mistreatment of women in this country. No
matter what color we are.. it seems that we always have to put up with
this nonsense. We have this bunch of Crazies in Austin for the last
twenty or so years who have closed practically all the PP Clinics in
Texas.
Unless you were on the spot to see what is now going on
you would never believe the misery these actions have caused for
women, especially the poor women, the very poor women. They have nowhere
to turn to now. And there is no hope for them. Even if they could
gather the money to get some birth control they cannot find a place
in small town that will sell them.
