VA GOP Wants To Eliminate Bodyguards For Governor Because He’s Pro Gun Control
Proving yet again just how deeply in the pocket of the National Rifle Association (NRA) the Republican Party truly is, GOP members of the Virginia General Assembly are proposing bills to completely eliminate all bodyguards or other forms of protection from Democratic Governor Terry McMcAuliffe simply because he happens to be in favor of sensible gun control in his state.
Republican State Senator Bill Carrico, who has introduced an amendment to the budget which would strip McAuliffe of his armed security detail, told the press this week:
Click here for reuse options!A lot of the governor’s power is deferred to the General Assembly at that point and I’ll be getting with my colleagues to circumvent everything this governor has done on this point. I have a budget amendment that I’m looking at to take away his executive protection unit. If he’s so afraid of guns, then I’m not going to surround him with armed state policemen….READ MORE at LiberalAmerica

This could very possibly pass, as both houses are controlled by republicans. But even if it doesn’t, it demonstrates the hate they have for anyone who doesn’t love guns.

Using that logic, will they eliminate brain surgery from their states benefits package?

The National Republican Army oops Rifle Association is to the Republican Party what The SturmAbtielung was to the NSDAP in Germany.

You had the NRA thing right the first time.

Stupid is so strong in them that they are not ashamed of proposing obvious absurdities.

He’s being childish and petty. Which is to say, a typical Republican. If it passes and someone lunatic voter of his kills McAuliffe, can he be charged as a co-conspirator? If I were McAuliffe, I’d run into this nutjob at every possible opportunity and make it a point to tell him I’m armed.

Petty and short sighted. If Gov shot then NRA/Cons will have a world of bad publicity that will engulf them. Cons will have to pray that Gov isn’t shot or shot at.

Given the recent behavior of the right, I don’t think there will be much backlash. They don’t give a sh!t what anyone outside of their world thinks and some would undoubtedly cheer a Democrat being shot.

There would be bad publicity, but their response would be to blame the victim. You can take that to the bank.

Since they couldn’t win the election, Virginia Republicans are now going to remove the new Democratic Governor’s bodyguards from service so some crazy-ass Teabagger can carry out an assassination.
Yes, indeed, that shows a deep and abiding respect for the electoral process….
Red Eye Robot December 28th, 2015 at 06:12
Crazy ass teabagger like Vester Flanagan? In case you weren’t aware, McAwfuls AG took this action because they failed to win an election to take back the VA senate.

It’s the mentality of gun bots who complain that Obama and his family have Secret Service protection, and that his kids go to private school..

The lunacy on display has to make one wonder. Their ideology is under clear attack, and for good reason.. Are these the last, desperate actions of a once grand, but now dissolving party?
