Muhammad Ali is speaking out on behalf of Muslims.

“I am a Muslim and there is nothing Islamic about killing innocent people in Paris, San Bernardino, or anywhere else in the world,” the former heavyweight champion of the world and peace activist declared in a statement to NBC News. “True Muslims know that the ruthless violence of so called Islamic Jihadists goes against the very tenets of our religion.”

      I find myself defending muslims a lot these days, which is ironic, as I am atheist – and think all religions are daft.

        I don’t see it as so much defending Muslims as defending humans. I too am an atheist and view all religious belief as basically self-imposed delusions.

        I’m not an atheist, and I think all religions are daft too. (Though I wouldn’t likely use that term ☺)

        I just don’t think one is crazier than the other. Well, there is Scientology…

    I have to laugh when I see right wingers “quoting” the Koran. What they are really doing is copying something they got from another RW site, and neither they nor the owners of the site they got it from know anything about Islam. I don’t know anything about Islam either, so I don’t quote from the Koran. The problem is, most of those fools claim to be Christians, and they know just as much about the bible as they do about the Koran.

    Ali is and always has been a class act…that withstood the hate of the nation in the 60’s only to emerge as world figure with a stature others can only envy
