Florida Muslim Home Targeted With Gunfire
The home of a Muslim family was targeted in response to the Paris attacks.
Orange County resident Amir Elmasri showed WFTV the hole where a bullet passed through his garage door and into the master bedroom. Elmasri said that he found the bullet in a dresser drawer in the bedroom.
According to Orange County deputies, evidence gathered at the scene suggested at least three bullets were fired at the home. The shooting was thought to have occurred between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sunday when the family was away.
The police reported noted that the victim “expressed concern and believes this incident may be retaliation toward him for the recent terrorist attacks in France because he is Muslim.”
“We are as peaceful as any American family,” Elmasri insisted. “I mean, why would you shoot at my garage?”
Elmasri pointed out that his family was now living in fear.
“They feel unsafe now,” he explained. “Why somebody is shooting at us, what did we do?”

Orlando area, very diverse, crowded and tourist destination. Damnit floridians, stop behaving like inbreds.
Suzanne McFly November 16th, 2015 at 18:15

I love Florida, I was raised there
Suzanne McFly November 16th, 2015 at 20:03
I lived there and called it home for over 20 years. I have a lot of friends that I love there but it is a completely different from the place I grew up in (Connecticut).
tracey marie November 16th, 2015 at 20:07

Suzanne McFly November 16th, 2015 at 20:13

We are both amazed at what happened in our states
Suzanne McFly November 16th, 2015 at 20:16
Lieberman threw me for a loop. I was amazed how many liked jeb when I lived in Florida. Both states have a big part in where we are.

Suzanne McFly November 16th, 2015 at 20:29
Cheaper and warmer in Florida but my family is up here. I will most likely stay up North.
tracey marie November 16th, 2015 at 20:47

Pretty to look at, fine for 1-2 days then the grit appears and the ice.
Suzanne McFly November 17th, 2015 at 17:45
I live on a dirt road and have to plow and shovel my way out. I almost moved back to Florida last year lol.

Living on a property that is private is worth the hassle.
Suzanne McFly November 17th, 2015 at 18:37
My days home (when I am home of course) I am surrounded by animals. My Heaven.
tracey marie November 17th, 2015 at 19:04
Perfect, I live in a small subdivision but I have a partially wooded 3/4 acre lot…all my animals make me smile.

The ugly down there offsets any savings
Suzanne McFly November 17th, 2015 at 07:23
I agree, it is so much more beautiful up here with all the leafy trees and hills. The beaches are nice in Florida but I also love the beaches in Rhode Island.

It is a lot of fun to paint the sky with color…got me into sewing too and indirectly studying quilting …for the patterns you can make for a sail
Suzanne McFly November 18th, 2015 at 12:31
A couple in Florida who pretty much adopted me when I lived there made quilts. They quilt with so many different types of fabrics. They use the typical flowery type of patterns, but a family wanted a quilt for their son who played sports. They took all his old jerseys and tee shirts with the name of the team and his numbers on them, it was incredible. I don’t think the guy will ever sleep on it, that is something you hang on the wall next to your trophy’s. I loved seeing the beautiful artwork they created, and they loved dogs as much as I did. :)

The intricate patterns and the availability a range of colors in ripstop make it perfect

Reminds me of what happened in Phoenix only a day or two after the 9/11 attacks. Some asshole saw a guy with a beard at a gas station, assumed he was Muslim (that’s what he told the police), and shot him dead. Turned out he was a Sikh. Not that it matters.
granpa.usthai November 16th, 2015 at 17:39
met a Sikh with his family out shopping yesterday wearing his Dastar, and his two daughters with their lovely long hair braided in a ponytail. Don’t know how the hell anyone could mistake them for Muslims?
Richard Banville November 16th, 2015 at 17:55
One word: ignorance.
Not that correctly identifying a Muslim and then shooting him is much better, though.
Larry Schmitt November 16th, 2015 at 18:07
Exactly. He knew nothing about either group, he thought he was taking vengeance, but it was just a random person. It could have been one of the Duck Dynasty creeps for all he cared.
whatthe46 November 16th, 2015 at 19:00
just like the racist asshole that murder 3 people who were white, because he believed they were jewish. stupid as sh*t!
Bunya November 16th, 2015 at 17:16
…and this is why everyone needs a gun. You never know when you’ll have to retaliate against something that happened in another country by shooting at an innocent family in this country!
granpa.usthai November 16th, 2015 at 17:31
USA
USA
USA
exactly! -responsible ownership of guns require that you know which direction to point the gun and how to pull the trigger!
after all –
guns don’t kill people
people kill people
which is why ALL people should have guns!
and or
Czar nuclear arms which is their 2nd Amendment Constitutional right –
that shall not be infringed!
granpa.usthai November 16th, 2015 at 17:25
Florida?

Suzanne McFly November 16th, 2015 at 18:13
I bet if we found out who shot up this house and showed them a map and asked them where Paris was, they wouldn’t be able to find it.
Larry Schmitt November 16th, 2015 at 18:26
Not even Paris, Texas.
LoisB November 16th, 2015 at 21:01
What did you do? You had the temerity to be Muslim living among ignorant, hate-filled assholes.
rg9rts November 17th, 2015 at 04:33
What a lovely country we have …makes me proud
