Ron Paul ‘Scared To Death Trump Will Win’

Ron Paul told me Thursday night he’s “scared to death” Donald Trump will win the Republican nomination. He also said he’d like to seem Jim Webb “out there more.”

COLMES: I don’t know who to vote for if my goal is to have fewer wars. Now obviously your son is running on the republican side, he’s one of the few voices, does it frustrate you when you look at polls to see that it’s Ben Carson Donald Trump getting all the oxygen in the republican race?

RON PAUL: Well, I’m hoping that can change and it still could. But I was disappointed that Webb didn’t do a little bit better. You know Webb has a little bit better approach to this, and now he’s saying he might run as an independent. But you know how futile that is. But I would like to see him still out there talking about this. But there are some restraints placed on candidates like myself or even Rand or others who want to take a position that is contrary to the leadership of both parties…

I have trouble believing that Donald Trump is going to be our next President.

COLMES: Or the nominee?

RON PAUL: Well, I thought at the beginning it would be impossible, but now I’m scared to death that the American people might be just wanting to be taken care of. Sometimes people want to be taken care of economically, I’ll take care of you from cradle to grave, and others will just say I will take care of you, this is a mess and I’m the boss.

COLMES: So you’re scared to death that this could happen?

RON PAUL: Oh yeah, I’d be very worried if somebody as authoritarian as he is. You can’t run a country like you run a business. They’re two entirely different things.

One of your more unenlightening interviews, Alan.

It’s like interviewing a midget about his concern of another midget’s not being able dunk a basketball. Neither Trump nor Paul would have the slightest idea of how to lead the country.

Something Ron Paul is forgetting is that he helped move the GOP/TP to this point where facts don’t matter, conspiracy theories and propaganda are believed, and nuttiness is accepted as competence.
