Hillary Clinton’s Sexism Attack On Bernie Sanders Isn’t ‘Pathetic,’ It’s Genius

Over the weekend, Hillary Clinton rolled out a delayed-reaction attack line over a remark that Bernie Sanders made during the first Democratic debate, nearly two weeks ago. On a couple of different occasions this weekend, Hillary told crowds that she wasn’t about to be silenced on the issue of gun violence:

“I’ve been told to stop, and I quote, ‘shouting about gun violence.’ First of all, I’m not shouting. It is just when women talk, some people think we’re shouting.

“I’ve been told to stop shouting about ending gun violence. Well, I haven’t been shouting, but sometimes when a woman speaks out, some people think it’s shouting. But I won’t be silenced.”

The not-so-subtle implication is that someone was engaging in a little bit of sexism, and that someone is Bernie Sanders. The veiled charge has drawn predictable criticism from the usual suspects, typified by MSNBC He-Man Woman-Haters-Fraternity Morning Joe. The crew’s mascot Mika Brzezinski called the accusation “pathetic,” to hoots of approval from the bros. I’ll get to the substance of Hillary’s attack in a minute, but first, consider…READ MORE

She is doing the same nasty, dishonest things she did last time that
made people hate her. We all have eyes and ears, we watched the debates
so for her to try to convince us that we didn’t is just pathetic.

    That
smug little gotcha face that she pulled is also another thing that makes
people dislike her, no one likes that no matter who does it, it is the Sarah Palin face.

The fact that she stayed with Bill after her cheated on her makes her
look weak and sexist, like it is ok for men to cheat but women have suffer and take it. Sorry but strong women do not play that.

Millions of women disagree with you Candy.

      • CandideThirtythree October 28th, 2015 at 15:28

By the same token millions more do agree and that is why she should keep mum about sexism…especially since there was none and making stuff up whole cloth always comes back to bite.

She needs to stick to the issues.

Many women work thrue there issues with there spouse and have a stronger and long marriage. I get it you don’t like her, but don’t pull a palin with your snark and unreasonable hate.

Ain’t no hate in it, I have already said that I will vote for her if she is the nominee. I am just pointing out the things that were said about her at the time it happened and again in 2008.

She should not be walking into the same situation again, if she tries to paint people as sexist when they are not then she will open herself up scrutiny in the sexist department. She will want to avoid that at all costs because her track record of helping women is not strong at all.

He was. I like Bernie and will vote for him if he is the nominee, but he will lose .

            • tracey marie October 28th, 2015 at 17:45

                Nope, not at all.
I’m about to reply to your other recent comment to me about this, so I’ll just do it there instead of repeating myself. :)

To use misogynist-card like race-card before to accuse fellow Dem won’t work. If anything, it will bite you in the a$$ and it should.

  3. rg9rts October 28th, 2015 at 03:04

I gave up on the Misogynist News a long time ago

I followed the link at the end to The DB article. To get an idea what the readers thought of it I clicked on “best” at the comments. Smart crowd over there, they’re not gonna be led around that’s for sure.

  5. KillAllTheRednecks . October 28th, 2015 at 14:15

Nope. It IS pathetic. Nothing “genius” about it.

    • DownriverDem October 28th, 2015 at 14:52

No it isn’t. Often Bernie doesn’t realize how what he says could come off. I’m a Hillary supporter, but will vote for Bernie if he gets the nomination. Will you vote for Hillary is she gets the nomination? If you say no, then you aren’t a left leaner voter. Hillary is very well qualified. Women have been waiting for a very very long time to be able to vote for a qualified woman for president. I’m serious. Don’t piss off women voters.

Bernie wasn’t being sexist at all.
Some people may hear it that way, because they’re conditioned to think whenever a man says “shouting” about what a woman says, that he’s discounting her as being shrill and/or hysterical.
But that isn’t what happened, Bernie used the same line he’s used plenty of other times when a woman wasn’t at the other end of the discussion.

He also has an extremely strong history of “walking the walk” when it comes to women’s rights.
Possibly more than Hillary, but I’m not sure about that.

That being said, if Hillary gets the nomination, this is one Bernie supporter who will easily vote for her.
I’m not a fan of hers, but she’s by far and away a better candidate than any of the Republican choices.

    • tracey marie October 28th, 2015 at 17:48

He is implying his adversary’s are shrill when they are women.

      • Kick Frenzy October 29th, 2015 at 00:55

        No, he isn’t.
He has used the exact point of people shouting about gun laws and regulations in multiple settings and in all scenarios… when replying to Clinton, when replying to men, when talking about the different sides of the issue in general.

He’s not implying anything about women.

Bernie has worked just as hard as Hillary for women’s rights.
He’s also worked harder and longer for equal rights for blacks and for the LGBTQommunity.

To suggest Bernie is sexist or misogynistic, is to not know who Bernie is.

I like Bernie, I am voting for HRC….some haters out there hate me for that…I am green …vote green locally…but the fact is Bernie can’t get elected …he would be crushed by the GOP….but I am sure he and Liz will have HRC’s ear on all the issues they all agree on…and even the ones they don’t….it’s a team effort people ;)

  8. maggie October 29th, 2015 at 14:04

    totally agree…have a great day ;)
