Ivy League Professor Still Didn’t Actually Call Ben Carson ‘Coon of the Year’
The conservative media is in a lather because they think University of Pennsylvania Professor Anthea Butler called Dr. Ben Carson “Coon of the Year,” which obviously makes her racist. Last week, Butler responded to this (now-deleted) Goldie Taylor tweet:
The tweet linked to this article, about Ben Carson’s remarks on NASCAR fans flying the Confederate flag. This was Prof. Butler’s reply:
That reply caught the attention of conservative website Campus Reform, which contacted Prof. Butler for comment, at which time they claim she deleted the tweet. On Tuesday, the story broke big all over conservative media, with variations on the headline “Ivy League Prof. Calls Ben Carson a ‘Coon’.”
There are a few problems with this story, chief among them being that Professor Butler didn’t actually call Ben Carson anything…READ MORE

Probably not the best choice of words in 2015.
But I am old enough to remember when black men like my late older cousin (Korean war veteran) used the term “ace boon coon” to describe their best friends.
I guess it is like spanking a child. it is a family matter. The parents can do it, but no one else had better lay a hand on the kid. Same with that phrase. It was ok if you were in the family.

While listening to RWNJ radio here in republican central, and upon checking out the real and full source of the hosts “outrage”, it was immediately apparent to me that he had purposely failed to mention several critical facts to his listening audience pertaining to this “outrage”.
Proving once again how the “low informational voter” and the “low informational providers” are so vital to the republican party and also why one should think before they tweet.
…It also made me wonder if Dr. Carson would be flattered or offended if elrushbo dedicated a “magic negro” song to him.

If you read the linked story at Daily Banter, the same people who object to the professor supposedly calling Carson a coon, use the same term, and much worse, on the professor. They don’t care about Carson, they just want an excuse to use racists words on another black person. Simple as that.

So what if she did call him a coon?
Conservatives scream about the first amendment for getting called out for every horrible thing that comes out of their raggedy mouths, never understanding that the first amendment never comes into play unless someone is arrested for what they say.
What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

My dad used to call people coons until some distant relatives from Arkansas moved to the same town we lived in and we went to meet them and they were black!
I thought it was awesome, I laughed myself sick because I was always ashamed of my racist family..this was back in the 60s too so it was extra Delicious!
It cured my dad of racism but my blond haired, blued eyed German mother was not amused.
