You Can Like The Pope Again! Vatican Distances Pope From Kim Davis
Pope Francis blotted out the sun last week when he visited the United States for the first time, earning the undying gratitude of liberals everywhere for making sensible statements about climate change and poverty. That undying gratitude died a little this week when it was revealed that Pope Francis met with Homophobe of Arc™ Kim Davis at the Vatican embassy and, according to Davis’ attorney, encouraged her campaign against other people’s marriages:
On Tuesday night, her[Davis’s] lawyer, Mathew D. Staver, said that Ms. Davis and her husband, Joe, were sneaked into the Vatican Embassy by car on Thursday afternoon. Francis gave her rosaries and told her to “stay strong,” the lawyer said. The couple met for about 15 minutes with the pope, who was accompanied by security guards, aides and photographers.
As Ben Cohen ably points out, the Pope’s regressive stances on a variety of social issues are well-known, so any liberals who hopped on the Pope Express because of climate change did so with the full knowledge that he still opposes marriage equality and abortion rights. That didn’t stop a whole bunch of us from being disappointed at the news of Francis’ meeting with Kim Davis. I’ve never been a fan of the Pope or the organized Catholic church, but his influence on climate change is an undeniable good. For others, the disappointment was more emotional, and more personal.
The good news is…READ MORE

He will never marry gay couples, thinks transgenderism is abnormal, will never celebrate abortion as a good thing, and those views of his on these issues will never change. Still back to liking him?
jasperjava October 3rd, 2015 at 01:08
He’s still a better human being than you can ever hope to be.
whatthe46 October 3rd, 2015 at 02:04
gays are people too and shouldn’t be discriminated against, never heard him say anything about anyone being abnormal and he said to forgive women who have had to make that decision, so do you still like him? and stop your damn lying while you’re at running your idiotic thoughts through your fingers by the way.

Again, you lack not only reading skills but a thinking process. By saying my opinion of him goes back up doesn’t imply that I like all of his positions or that I totally approve of him and or his position/title. You assume rather then think.

Why would most of us have stopped the Pope? Only an ass would have believed that tart’s legal rep when he announced “a meeting with the Pope” or maybe a non Catholic?
whatthe46 October 2nd, 2015 at 19:14
and you also read where he said they “snuck” in. i.e., they weren’t invited.
allison1050 October 2nd, 2015 at 20:24
Even funnier since that isn’t what they were saying in the early reports.
whatthe46 October 2nd, 2015 at 20:26
right. they were saying “invited” to meet with him, as if it were the Pope who instigated the meeting. lying asses.

My idiot sister over reacted like most and got herself worked into a tizzy over nothing at all. ;o)
whatthe46 October 2nd, 2015 at 20:48
did you let her know what really happened? is she all better now?
allison1050 October 2nd, 2015 at 20:58
Had to, I didn’t want her blood pressure to get any higher. When I explained to her the ins and outs of josteling even the Pope’s political halls of an audience she calmed down. The fault lies with the attorney and the person that got the tart in line and the media that should have been smart enough to not speak of it until they had verified, that was simple to me. Why would he have “met”/hold an audience with her?
whatthe46 October 2nd, 2015 at 21:10
c’mon, you should know better than that. fox entertainment never report facts and they shut down a story after being confronted with said facts. fortunately, although not soon enough, but better late than never, the vatican did come out and set the record straight.
allison1050 October 3rd, 2015 at 03:59
I’m surprised it took them so long but yeah better late than never.

The Pope blotted out the Sun ? I thought it was an eclipse of the Super Moon that happened. O’Well, I just need to keep up on things a little better I guess.
StoneyCurtisll October 2nd, 2015 at 19:41

No one understood how could the Pope act so disrespectfully towards the country he was visiting
Suzanne McFly October 2nd, 2015 at 21:32
According to davis, the Pope told her she was being sacrificed for all Christians.
Gina Bousquet October 2nd, 2015 at 21:37
Only according to her, the poor victim… sobs

I don’t like or dislike somebody solely based on one action, or one opinion. I knew going in that I would disagree with Il Papa on some issues ( I AM a Recovering Catholic, after all.)

easy it was once I tried it out. This is what I do…

Not for me.
I gave this pope a chance and he blew it by meeting this bigot. I know people will say it was a mistake caused by his handlers or his organization, but it’s that same organization that has caused so much damage.
Pope Francis may be different, but the corrupt organization he works for remains status quo.
rg9rts October 3rd, 2015 at 13:48
It was a set up
rg9rts October 3rd, 2015 at 13:48
He was set up by one of the conservative archbishops also a Jesuit …I expected a physical hit on him not character assassination
maggie October 19th, 2015 at 01:47
