Franklin Graham: I Wouldn’t Vote For A Muslim Or Atheist
Billy Graham has a new book, Where I Am: Heaven, Eternity and Our Life Beyond, and his son, Franklin, came on radio with me Tuesday night to talk about it.

We discussed whether the United States should be taking in refugees from Syria, what the true nature of Hell is, the Pope’s visit to America, and the recent comments by Dr. Ben Carson, who said a Muslim should not be elected President of the United States:

COLMES: So you could never vote for a Muslim for public office?
GRAHAM: I don’t see how I could, no.
COLMES: Could you see yourself voting for a Jewish person?
GRAHAM: Of course.
COLMES: Or an atheist?
GRAHAM: Probably not, I wouldn’t want to vote for an atheist.

That’s not necessarily the victim’s fault. People talk to me every day whom I would gladly shoot repeatedly were it legal to do so.
I would not consider voting for anyone who actually talks WITH or listens to him, though.

He didn’t say it, but he, and others who believe as he does, probably wouldn’t vote for a black man or a woman, and almost definitely didn’t vote for Obama. So nothing but old white “Christian” men for them.

I wish it were possible for someone to run for an office – any office – without even having to declare what religion, if any he is. It should never even be an issue. Unfortunately, if your name is Harold Bloomberg, people will assume you are a Jew, even if you have never been to a synagogue, and they will vote for or against you accordingly.
