Levin: Supreme Court Imposing Secular Sharia

Conservative radio talker Mark Levin is upset that the Supreme Court acts as though we’re a secular nation.

Levin spoke at the Values Voter Summit…where he declared that secularism has become the established religion of the United States and the Supreme Court is now essentially imposing secular sharia upon the entire nation…

“The federal government is not supposed to establish a religion,” he said. “What we have now though is the federal government as a religion, secularism has become a religion. And just as in Muslim countries they have these sharia courts to enforce sharia law, well, we have a Supreme Court that exists to enforce apparently secularism.”

    Definition of secularism: A doctrine that rejects religion and religious considerations. So that sorta makes it the antithesis of religion. So you’re wrong again, Mr. conservative.

    from Latin saecularis “of an age, occurring once in an age,” from saeculum “age, span of time, generation.”

    Maybe Levin is confusing the Latin saecularis for age/older/more senior and inherently someone having a healthy beard. Would explain why Conservatives are always pitting God vs. Darwin, they both have beards.

    Could it be as simple as not understanding the meaning of a word?

    Secular sharia is a contradiction in terms. not that that bothers right wing nut jobs. Since the Constitution is a secular document why shouldn’t this be a secular country. IT IS. The law of the land says specifically that this country is NOT based on the christian religion.

    Conservative SCOTUS upheld the 10th & 14th ‘Equal marriage’ Amendments conveying 2,000+ federal benefits equally. If LGBT were the sole beneficiaries of 2,000 Federal marriage benefits I guarantee today’s faux cons would similarly insist on equality too!
