Carson Doubles Down On Anti-Muslim Comments

Posted by | September 20, 2015 20:27 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Religion

Ben Carson is adding to his comments that a Muslim shouldn’t be president.

Carson ignited a media firestorm in a Sunday morning interview with Chuck Todd on “Meet the Press,” in which he said he “would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation.”“I absolutely would not agree with that,” Carson said.

In an interview with The Hill, Carson opened up about why he believes a Muslim would be unfit to serve as commander in chief.

“I do not believe Sharia is consistent with the Constitution of this country,” Carson said. “Muslims feel that their religion is very much a part of your public life and what you do as a public official, and that’s inconsistent with our principles and our Constitution.”

Carson said that the only exception he’d make would be if the Muslim running for office “publicly rejected all the tenants of Sharia and lived a life consistent with that.”

“Then I wouldn’t have any problem,” he said.

However, on several occasions Carson mentioned “Taqiya,” a practice in Shia Islam in which a Muslim can mislead nonbelievers about the nature of their faith to avoid persecution.

“Taqiya is a component of Shia that allows, and even encourages you to lie to achieve your goals,” Carson said.

So, given Carson’s views, it’s fine for a Christian to become president by injecting that religion into public life, but not so for a Muslim.

It would be unwise to elect extremists and fanatics of ANY religion to be POTUS, as they believe that their narrow interpretations of religious dogma found within holy scripture supersede the tenets found within the U.S. Constitution … as Dr. Ben has demonstrated on numerous occasions.

Had Carson simply stated that he personally would not vote for a Muslim American … fine, whatever. Everyone is entitled to their own biases and nonsensical reasons for choosing who they would vote to be their elected representatives.

However, to suggest that members of certain religions should be ineligible to run for the presidency indicates that Carson is unqualified to be POTUS, as he clearly has no idea how our system of government operates, nor does he have even a basic understanding of those fundamental constitutional tenets that he and his ilk are so eager to undermine.

    Herr Carson says…
““I do not believe Judea law is consistent with the Constitution of this
country,” Carson said.. “Jews feel that their religion is very much a
part of your public life and what you do as a public official, and
that’s inconsistent with our principles and our Constitution.”

Hey Ben, you forgot the White Power (oops) shout out..

““I do not believe Christian law is consistent with the Constitution of this
country,” Carson said.. “Christians feel that their religion is very much a
part of your public life and what you do as a public official, and
that’s inconsistent with our principles and our Constitution.”

How do you like that version, Ben?

I hate to tell brother Ben, no matter how hard he tries or wishes..
He is never gonna be a white man.
And he is never gonna be elected under the GOP banner…
Ben can wave this flag around until he is blue in the face..

It isn’t gonna get him elected or any further than he already is in the GOP primaries
    ..

Wow, just a few decades ago people said the same thing about Black people. Wonder if Ben knows how stupid that sounds ?

    • Larry Schmitt September 20th, 2015 at 23:14

None of them do, they don’t actually listen to themselves.

Gawd, I’m so tired of this moron, it’s like he’s some weird white supremacist in blackface from Idaho.

Carson is also forgetting that he’s a member of a political party whose politicians and supporters lie every d*mn day and then claim to be the most devout Christians on the planet. I’m black, and I’d vote for a decent Muslim for POTUS more readily than I’d vote for this showboating, ignorant, divisive, tool. Carson should know better than to denigrate anyone else. We both grew up at a time in America when blacks were discriminated against just for the hell of it. If Carson were to go to certain neighborhoods today where no one knew him, the people living in the neighborhood would dial 911 faster than a jack rabbit can jump, and he knows it, and when the cops arrived, the only thing they’d see is a “suspicious black male.” I detest poseurs, and those who forget to care about others. Carson has “made,” it and he will tell any lie to be accepted by those whom he thinks are “better” than himself. I’m very familiar with the game Carson’s playing, and believe me when I say that he’s up to no good, and that his biggest fan is Ben Carson.

Funny how this party is screaming against Sharia law, yet these candidates actions are seeming to support these types of religious laws being implemented here.
