Michael Reagan: My Dad Would Be Labeled A RINO Today

Posted by | September 13, 2015 11:30 | Filed under: Politics Radio Interviews

Michael Reagan told me on radio Friday night that the more extreme elements of the Republican Party would call his father a “RINO” today–a Republican In Name Only. He also said Mike Huckbabee is acting like he’s running for “Pastor-In-Chief” not Commander-In-Chief. Reagan reiterated that his dad would be “appalled” by Donald Trump.

Ron Reagan Jr. has been saying this for years, while Michael Reagan was kissing the Republicans’ asses and being an apologist for their nonsense.

Exactly, I was surprised to hear him talking very much like his intelligent brother , and with considerable enthusiasm. Sounds like we can thank The Donald for bringing him around

I’ll let you thank him. I’m saving my thanks for when he announces he is going to move to a monastery in Tibet.

I’ll thank him when he votes for a Democratic candidate rather than whoever emerges from the Republican field.

There’s obviously some history there. What did Tibetan monks ever do to you? The ones I’ve met all seem reasonably cool if a bit unnaturally serene.

Realistically, I don’t think I will ever have to thank him… I think the monks are safe.

Hitler wouldn’t be right enough for some of these baggers

    • Red Mann September 13th, 2015 at 16:22

Right? Hell, a lot of them claim Hitler was a lefty! Nationalist SOCIALIST German WORKER’s Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei ).

      • rg9rts September 13th, 2015 at 16:28

        That dirty word…socialist…

      • bpollen September 13th, 2015 at 17:17

Especially Libertarians, who are big on putting ALL dictators and repressive regimes on the left side of the political spectrum. They simply redefine all the terms to fit their viewpoint.

        • Red Mann September 13th, 2015 at 17:18

Seems like they think Orwell’s 1984 is an instruction manual.

          • bpollen September 13th, 2015 at 17:19

            Shhh… They think it’s a secret!

            • Red Mann September 13th, 2015 at 17:30

The right’s version of the “Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion”. Of course they believe that “After the Ball” was a serious book, not satire.

Not by me, I’d still see him as a senile old fool who committed treason…but forgot.

    • Bunya September 14th, 2015 at 14:24

I agree. And I also see him as the one who initiated that wildly successful “trickle down economics” plan. The after effects of that policy are still reverberating today.

Republicans also seem to conveniently forget that he was a union president (and that INCLUDES Reagan.)

    At least.

Reagan would stand there totally confused and whimpering for jelly beans.

  7. Southern Logic September 15th, 2015 at 11:13

If Reagan was running, Trump would not have run. Unfortunately the GOP has many weak candidates and a RINO like JEB will not win.

On another thought JFK would be a conservative today. they left has become so radical it is indistinguishable from socialism. Of which Lennin said “The goal of socialism is communism.”
