Bernie Sanders Apparently Doesn’t Want to Get a Single Black Vote

After a long summer spent feuding with #BlackLivesMatter and alienating Obama coalition voters, Senator Bernie Sanders appeared to be going in the right direction with black voters. He released a pretty decent racial justice platform, stopped telling people how his 1960s-era activism gave him a lifetime hood pass, and hasn’t openly pined for white voters in months. None of this appears to have translated in the polls, though, as Sanders’ support remains overwhelmingly white, so Bernie made some moves this week.

First, he decided that drafting Dr. Cornel West as his most prominent black surrogate would somehow be a good idea, which would have worked if Sanders had a flux capacitor and a DeLorean set to 2007. Here in the present, Cornel West is about as appealing to black voters as a Rand Paul lecture on black party identification. West has been among the most unhinged of Obama critics.

Then, Sanders made an inane charge against President Obama part of his stump. Repeating a claim he’s made several times, Sanders took to MSNBC’s All In with Chris Hayes to explain that he won’t repeat Obama’s “biggest political mistake”…READ MORE

“Bernie Sanders Apparently Doesn’t Want to Get a Single Black Vote”

sounds like a right wing whacko headline.

“Bernie Sanders Apparently Doesn’t Want to Get a Single Black Vote”

That is a headline that describes his words perfectly…all he talks about is what he did in the 60’s…what about now?

I honestly don’t know what you mean. I’ve been listening to Bernie for a long time on Thom Hartman’s radio show. What I’ve been hearing him say for years is that that the 1%r’s are owning this country mind and soul more and more. This is the problem in my view. Hillary only recently and imo fairly mildly has addressed this.

How many of Bernie’s supposed supporters are only Anti-Hilary Republicans that are trying to stop her before her Landslide in the Main election by giving False support numbers to Sanders ?

I will be voting for Bernie in the primaries. I know lots of other people that will as well. I will be voting for whoever wins the Democratic nomination in the general election and I believe anyone who doesn’t is nuts. In answer to your question, probably a very very small percentage.

        • The Original Just Me September 14th, 2015 at 11:59

Participating in the Primaries is Number One Priority. I am a Bone Headed Independent, so, even though I could slip in there, I feel I need to stand back and let the Parties select their candidates. This said though, I Still Believe in Hilary. I most likely will vote for the Democrat in the main, but here in Vote Counting Controlled Idaho, that is only a feel Good thing. I have been researching some Bernie supporters on the different web discussion panels. There are a lot of Devote Right Wingers who are supposedly supporting Bernie. This is just one of their Filthy Tactics in trying to influence elections. This is definitely going to be interesting.

OPPS, We must have run out of things to promise. Can this be the end of the Pie In The Sky Promises? Get real and come back to Earth Bernie. You can only promise so many Wonderful things before Reality bites you in the ass. ” I STILL BELIEVE IN HILARY ! “

Well, good luck trying to get the GOP to support your values, Tommy. Bernie may not be perfect (and to be honest, one should always beware of anyone who promotes themself as perfect), but if you think Hillary or anyone in the republican clown car would be any better, then you’re not thinking clearly.

it’s not an insult – it’s the truth – for his eventual 8 years in offic, when has the usa not been at war in an ever expanding radius?

  7. CandideThirtythree September 14th, 2015 at 12:50

Oh stop! He has been fighting for justice and equality for over 50 years. Just because so many can’t be bothered to look him up on the internet doesn’t mean he didn’t do it, his record speaks for itself.

Bernie appeals to idealists/intellectuals of all sorts…black or white what makes his supporters “out dated” or “out of sync” would be the idea that in a nation of very diverse race, culture, age, socio-economic demographics..that you can be a clique of political purists (tparty ring a bell) and win a national election in such a diverse pool….isreal prefers “anyone but HRC” but they can’t vote….however so far they have spent 20 mil on our campaigns…I don’t think Bernie is as ideologically pure as his base and I think he will be fine when HRC is president…and he is happy to help turn the wheel of the democratic party to the left ;)
