Creationist Ken Ham: Science Has ‘Contaminated’ Kids
Answers in Genesis founder Ken Ham says the church is losing younger members because they are “contaminated” by science in schools.
…the creationist warned that Millennials would “fundamentally change the culture and the church” if they did not turn away from secularism.
“I believe this is a huge warning sign to the church. When a generation no longer builds its worldview on the foundation of the absolute authority of God’s Word, the new generation begins to question everything it says, including its morality,” Hamm opined, lamenting that many young Christians “also believe science has disproved the book of Genesis and that the Flood did not occur during Noah’s day.”
…He added: “Let’s face it: children are being contaminated as a result of their secular education, the secular media, and their secular friends. In a world of no absolutes, evolution, sex outside marriage, gay “marriage,” attacks on gender distinction, humanism, and false religions—children are being tossed to and fro.”

Moving forward to the 12th century!!!!!!
Talibandrew Breitbot September 7th, 2015 at 19:15
Does anyone else wnat to see Jon Hamm debate Ken Ham?
Chris September 7th, 2015 at 20:43
Something doesn’t seem kosher here.
Roctuna September 7th, 2015 at 19:21
It doesn’t have anything to do with science. It has to do with his desire to be the arbiter of gods authority and sex. It has a lot to do with sex “sex outside marriage, gay “marriage,” attacks on gender distinction, humanism, and false religions”
Dwendt44 September 8th, 2015 at 01:22
and sex.
Roctuna September 8th, 2015 at 09:57
I know, right? There’s nothing they won’t tie to sex outside marriage, gay-this, gender-that, icky behavior of all kinds. I notice he didn’t mention duggary in his list of issues since it’s OK if you know jesus before, during and after duggaring.
Suzanne McFly September 7th, 2015 at 19:25
I am a flaming liberal who loves God and Jesus with all my heart, yet the God and Jesus I learned about sounds nothing like the God you have exalted into greatness. Your “God” sounds like a weak minded dick who can’t be supportive of humans who have the nerve to question their existence instead of filling your coffers. Well if that is what the millennials are doing, I fully support them of denying you your right to work to destroy critical thinking.
ExPFCWintergreen September 7th, 2015 at 19:26
Ken Ham: trying to figure out how to put the “fun” into fundamentalism.

So far it’s only the ‘mental’ that anyone is finding.
tracey marie September 7th, 2015 at 20:03
The fear he shows because he is losing his grip on the people, no longer do they fear fairytales and legends with talking snakes and men in feathers.
Suzanne McFly September 7th, 2015 at 20:55
Yeah, he sees his coffers drying up with the future generations.
Mike September 7th, 2015 at 20:08
The educational system in this country has failed us all when someone is able to fall between the cracks and be swept up by the fantasy of creationism.
Science doesn’t have all the answers, but it’s the only game in town that’s asking questions.
Larry Schmitt September 7th, 2015 at 20:18
On one of those idiotic sites (it might have been Answers in Genesis) they attempted to “answer” the question of why the dinosaurs died off. And one possibility someone actually typed with a straight face (I’m having trouble doing it now) is that maybe they started to interfere with the humans’ farms, and they killed them. I wish I had saved the whole thing. They accuse science of contaminating kids, and this is what they offer? un-f*cking-believable.
whatthe46 September 7th, 2015 at 20:38
lol. that’s stupid. cracking up laughing.
Suzanne McFly September 7th, 2015 at 20:54
You have to give them some credit, that type of “thinking” takes some out of the box type of thought.
Dwendt44 September 8th, 2015 at 01:18
A cat litter box maybe.
Chris September 7th, 2015 at 20:42
Ken Ham and his kind are actually Christianity’s greatest enemies. Those who would convert would be scared away by his rejection of common sense and his embrace of hate and ridicule.
Wasn’t love and acceptance Christ’s primary message?

That’s the old jebus…the new jebus carries an AR-15 with 3 extra magizines in an ammo vest and rides in the back of a stretch Hummer while he spreads the holy gospel of god…can I get an amen…?????

There is no reasoning with the unreasonable. The Ken Ham’s have been the doom of all civilizations.
Tommie September 7th, 2015 at 21:51
Because even “God” use science to create things, pal! It’s not science it’s what they see from religious “leaders” they are watching, not helping the poor, the bigotry, greed and touching children is what they may not like in church! IMO!
bpollen September 7th, 2015 at 22:59
It’s HARD to get people to buy our propaganda if you give them facts!
Gee, when faced with a disagreement between stories by Iron or Bronze age tribesmen, and reproducible and mathematically correct science, what thinking individual would go with fairy tales? Not Ken Hamm… because he is promoting NOT thinking, he can’t really be considered a “thinking” individual.
Dwendt44 September 8th, 2015 at 01:29
Especially since the myths and fables they base their stories on was just copied, borrowed, and plagiarized from other old religions, and yet THOSE religions are totally wrong.
bpollen September 8th, 2015 at 02:32
Lucifer “light bringer” name used for Venus and Prometheus
Beelzebub “Lord of the Flies” Philistine god
Belial “worthlessness” or “ungodly” ancient pagans god from early Judaism
Ba’al “lord” See Beelzebub…
Belphegor “Lord of the Gap” Assyrian and Moabite god
Moloch “king” Ammonite god
Aamon “Hidden One” Egyptian god
That’s just a small list of the stuff Judaism and Christianity lifted and repurposed from other religions. Old gods become devils and demons. Don’t even get me started on how they treated Pan…
Dwendt44 September 8th, 2015 at 02:47
Most ancient religions have a ‘flood myth’. Most based on the flooding of the Black Sea due to raising sea levels. They all have ‘creation’ myths as well. A dozen or more gods have come back from the dead, etc.
bpollen September 8th, 2015 at 03:04
At the end of the last Ice Age, there was a lot of land submerged on the coasts worldwide. If you believe that civilization only started about the 5th or 6th millennium BC, that doesn’t matter. I happen to think that civilization pre-dates the Indus Valley and Mesopotamian civilizations. That there were root civilizations that existed closer to the coast whose ruins and artifacts are now submerged. Similar to the Black Sea Deluge hypothesis, but even earlier.
I don’t buy the Atlantis/Mu/Lemuria “advanced civilization” with flying machines, etc. But I DO think that the earliest civilizations were probably forced to flee Ice Age melt.
fahvel September 8th, 2015 at 04:31
careful when saying “I think” or (I believe)

I have no idea what you are talking about.

why? Isn’t that just saying it is an opinion and welcomes additional information?

I agree.

I don’t doubt that Judaism lifted some of their stuff from other contemporary cultures, but the devil stuff I think is mostly a Christian thing, since Jews don’t believe in the Christian ‘hell’.
bpollen September 8th, 2015 at 15:50
But they did believe angels, and the devil is supposedly a fallen angel. Hell and the devil are a Christian thang, but they are composed mainly of blocks of Judaism (if you’ll forgive me for torturing metaphors.)
Jeffrey Samuels September 8th, 2015 at 16:57
funny, in all my years in hebrew and sunday school, I heard of angels on rare occasions as emissaries of God, but never demons or devils, and never was I threatened with hell for sinning which really translates as ‘straying from the path’.
So, wherever those bits came from, they were never really part of the Jewish tradition in which I was raised.
bpollen September 9th, 2015 at 05:01
Remember the Nephilim? In Genesis and Job, they are mentioned as the “sons of God” which a number of ancient Jewish writers interpreted as angels. So, ancient Judaism was a believer in angels, at least in part. And, as I point out, Christianity has a history of “demonizing” the old gods.
In Deuteronomy, we find the shedim, the word usually translated as “demon” or “devil.” Also the term they used to refer to foreign gods.
In Leviticus, we find Seʿirim – hairy demons and also a derisive term for foreign gods. And let’s not forget Azazel
In Isaiah, we find Lilith, variously described as a succubus and a child stealing demon.
In Habakkuk, we find Dever, a demonic herald who marches with YHWH.
I can’t address what you specifically were taught, but the Dead Sea Scrolls, written between about 150 BCE and 70 AD, by Jews, mention demons, a prince of demons (Belial), and Asmodeus. So the genesis of Christianity occurred during the time period that Jews were writing about angels and demons.
And, I may not be a Jew, but even *I* know that Judaism is not a single monolithic tradition and all Jews are not raised in a single “tradition.” To put it in Christian-centric terms, Dominionists and Episcopalians are not taught or raised in the same tradition, though they are both Christian. In Islam, Shia and Sunni don’t follow all the same traditions either.
Jeffrey Samuels September 9th, 2015 at 10:50
as I said, I did hear about angels on rare occasions. However, they were never made into a big deal in religious teachings.
bpollen September 9th, 2015 at 16:12
Neither Christianity nor Judaism is exactly the same animal it was millennia ago…
rg9rts September 8th, 2015 at 05:19
Sadly that reflects reality
Dwendt44 September 8th, 2015 at 01:21
But then again, jesus didn’t come for the rest of humanity, only for the Jews of the day. Didn’t come for the gentile, the heathens, or the Romans, or the infidels, only the Jews.
Suzanne McFly September 8th, 2015 at 07:39
He helped those who were in most need. He healed the sick and fed the hungry, not just the Jews.
Dwendt44 September 8th, 2015 at 12:37
As I recall, there was only one instance where he healed a non Jew and he did that only after being strongly urged to do so.
Suzanne McFly September 8th, 2015 at 22:36
It has been years since I read the Bible, but I believe Jesus wanted to preach to the Gentiles but did not let his disciples. It was mainly for conversion purposes I believe. I can’t recall every person he healed, so I don’t feel comfortable about commenting on that. You definitely have good points, but I never was one to focus on those issues. Honestly my Church simply focused on the “love thy neighbor” part of the Bible and being that I was Catholic I am sure you see why that is the focus.
fahvel September 8th, 2015 at 04:28
any bacterial piece of ignorant detritus like ham should know that it all boils down to god having one hell of a sick sense of humor. Having one’s chain pulled and thinking it’s love is a weird obsession.

We don’t worship science. Science is a tool. The correct philosophical standpoint, whether you are religious or secular, is liberal humanism.
