Retired Astronaut: Aliens Tried To Save USA From Nuclear War

Posted by | August 13, 2015 08:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Pot Luck

If it’s true, I’m sort of surprised that they did not say, “Beam me up – no intelligent life here!”

Aliens came to Earth to stop a nuclear war between America and Russia, according the bizarre claim of a former astronaut.

Edgar Mitchell, the sixth man to walk on the moon, says high-ranking military officials witnessed alien ships during weapons tests throughout the 1940s.

The UFOs, he says, were spotted hovering over the world’s first nuclear weapons test which took place on July 16, 1945 in the desolate White Sands deserts of New Mexico.

The Nasa veteran has regularly spoken about his belief in aliens ever since he landed on the surface of the moon during the Apollo 14 mission in 1971.

OK, I know y’all are going to say I’m nuts but I believe in this stuff.

We would probably be more aware of the aliens out there but we are probably still be quarantined because we are such a primitive violent culture. Someday maybe we will grow up as a species and quit destroying the things around us that sustain us. Until then …

      • Anomaly 100 August 13th, 2015 at 10:01

        Agreed.

      • arc99 August 13th, 2015 at 12:01

When the day of first contact comes and the existence of other worlds is confirmed beyond doubt, wouldn’t it be ironic if our primitive violent culture makes us the real-life Klingons.

According to science, the sun has a few billion years to go.

The theory is that NO human will be around to see the sun implode IN fact 98% of all species since life existed are now extinct.

Unlike all other extinctions, humans will be the only ones that contributed and caused their own extinction.

Edgar was a guest of the Art Bell Show a couple of weeks ago. (reruns on internet radio). Bell was trying to interview all the 12 astronauts who walked the moon. That was Bell’s goal but did not succeed.

Edgar is very serious about this stuff too. And of course Art Bell loved him. He kept him on for a four hour interview.

I found it quite interesting when he talked about how his trip into space convinced him that there is NO god. Even though, before he went into space he was very much a believer.

    • anothertoothpick August 13th, 2015 at 10:18

What happened to my post about Art Bell?

Did the aliens eat it or something?

      • Anomaly 100 August 13th, 2015 at 10:32

I found it in the alien ‘pending’ queue and snatched it from our lizard-like overlords then released it.

        • anothertoothpick August 13th, 2015 at 10:36

East of the Rockies…you’re on the air with Art Bell.

You are not alone, HUGE science guy!

    • The Original Just Me August 13th, 2015 at 12:13

Okay, you’re nuts. I didn’t want you to be disappointed. Actually, I find UFOs interesting but I am not ready to commit to their existence quite yet. It’s the same with Big Foot.

      • Anomaly 100 August 13th, 2015 at 12:18

Not into the Bigfoot thing, but it’s cool if you call me nuts for thinking we’ve been visited before.

        • The Original Just Me August 13th, 2015 at 12:43

Naw, I don’t think you’re nuts. But, you were expecting to be called nuts and I didn’t want you to be disappointed. Have fun

          • Anomaly 100 August 13th, 2015 at 16:26

I appreciate you trying not to disappoint me. I can always count on you guys!

We are always here for you. We try to help, console, befriend and above all, Make You Laugh. My most powerful tool in helping you to laugh would be to send you a picture of myself. I save that for only the MOST difficult cases. Have a fun day.

UFO’s are not unusual. Until you actually identify it, it’s a UFO. Once you do, it becomes an IFO. Most UFOs become IFOs.

        • The Original Just Me August 14th, 2015 at 05:18

I have tried in vane to see a UFO most all of my life. The problem I have is that I can identify most all of what I see.

          • bpollen August 14th, 2015 at 07:18

I saw one once in Western Kansas many years ago. I have no idea what it was, but I know that they scrambled jets from the nearest SAC base at the same time I saw it. Since then, nada. Though I do have a friend who once thought aliens were speaking to him thru records by the band The Stranglers. I finally convinced him otherwise by pointing out that, if they were capable of sending messages that way, they could probably just call…

There are many unexplained things going on but us underlings are not supposed to know about them. It’s for our own good ya know. Just think of what would happen if some Right Wing’s Nut Case got ahold of some of this info.

              • bpollen August 15th, 2015 at 04:05

You are not nuts Anomaly, unlike the believers, you are searching for answers.

You see the believers already have this thing all wrapped up which allow them to move on to their hate.

The believers like to ask about the big bang theory “How does something come from nothing?. I would ask them How does god come from nothing?

I believe, how arrogant to think we are so special that all the other planets are empty.

In HS I watched USAF planes chase a UFO all around the skies over our school for about an hour. The UFO constantly teased them and would stop on a dime ad wait for them to approach and fly off at an incredible rate of speed and stop again. It was fun to watch and the next day the paper said they checked out a weather balloon. This was in1955 or ’56.

      • Anomaly 100 August 13th, 2015 at 23:56

That’s incredible. I remember in the 5th grade suggesting that there might be life out there. But my teacher laughed and assured me that because there are only NINE planets that that’s impossible. The whole class laughed at me.

I said, “Isn’t it possible there are more planets out there?”

Oh boy, was I sorry I asked that.

        • The Original Just Me August 14th, 2015 at 05:12

I believe Carl Sagan, Stephen Hawking, and a few others would stand on your side about there being more than just our solar system. Life else where? It will always be possible until proven wrong and sadly, we will never have anyway to investigate the far reaches of the Cosmos.

          • Anomaly 100 August 14th, 2015 at 08:54

            Especially with Republicans defunding NASA.

            • The Original Just Me August 14th, 2015 at 10:25

What I am seeing is a change from physical exploration to very high tech observation in space. The rockets we use are horribly expensive but very high resolution telescopes can be used constantly for years at a time. I believe we are limited in being able to leave our little Rock in Space, therefore we are just peeking at things far away. I would love to see further progress in interplanetary travel but we are going to have to come up with some better way of transportation first.

              • Anomaly 100 August 14th, 2015 at 10:29

I love following all things NASA. We’re really making progress ‘out there’.

                • The Original Just Me August 14th, 2015 at 12:06

I have really gotten into following the Astrophysicists. These Dudes are WAY OUT THERE.

    • bpollen August 14th, 2015 at 04:39

I believe that there is extra-terrestrial life out there.

I just have a hard time believing that they are slumming in this neck of the galaxy.

If you want absolute proof of extra-terrestrial life, just check out a few the college town bars on any Saturday night.

I can sort of follow his reasoning- the more I learn about he vastness of the universe the more I am convinced that this earth is relatively unimportant. The idea that the supreme being controlling all this is so obsessed with our little species becomes ludicrous.

    • mea_mark August 13th, 2015 at 11:13

At best, I think the universe may be aware of itself and know what everything is about, omniscient if you will, but it is probably aware of us, about as much as we are of one single bit of bacteria in our gut that is helping us digest food. Most of us know it is there but don’t give that one little organism much thought or care, why should we, there are so many?

      • anothertoothpick August 13th, 2015 at 12:36

Would your theory not imply a supreme being mark?

        • mea_mark August 13th, 2015 at 13:11

That’s really a question of semantics.

          • anothertoothpick August 13th, 2015 at 13:27

That’s true mea_mark. I guess I am from the school of life on earth is the result of an incredible “accident” if you will.

However, …..hahahaha….the Rosetta explorer did find amino acids on that comet. Which could mean that all the ingredients came from somewhere else. And came together here on earth without any “awareness”.

            • Dwendt44 August 13th, 2015 at 16:23

There’s a half dozen ways that rationally could be the start of life on this planet. Might be a few more we haven’t figured out yet as well.
But for some, magic is the only answer.

    • The Original Just Me August 13th, 2015 at 12:21

Try reading Stephen Hawking’s book ” A Brief History of Time. ‘I am SLOWLY working my way through it. Carl Sagan’s works are very good also and much easier to understand.

    • anothertoothpick August 13th, 2015 at 12:33

Snick…. that is very close to what Edgar said.

He also said that he wondered how the religions would sort out, “with all this stuff out here” which god was the REAL god. And he wondered how people could kill each other over that question.

He did not dwell on the religion aspect or come off as a hater.
He was just simply stating a rational thought. And how his mind was changed.

I wonder how the residentss of Hiroshima and Nagasaki would feel about this information.

    • anothertoothpick August 13th, 2015 at 12:54

My guess, and I am not sure, he is talking about the “Cuban Missile Crisis”.

That is the closest the world came to a Nuclear holocaust. It was a matter of minutes before that war started. And it is a goddamn good thing we did not have a stupid war monger like dubya in the white house at the time.

      But I get your drift.

So I would ask if he thought JFK and Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev where aliens?

      • Suzanne McFly August 13th, 2015 at 16:36

I understand what he was talking about, but why would aliens “save” us from one tragedy and not another. Seems like his idea is devoid of common sense. JFK an alien? No way, he was with Marilyn Monroe and she was not the type to date out of her species.
