Robertson Advises Grandparents To Take Grandkids Away From Atheist Parents

Posted by | August 10, 2015 23:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Religion

Sure, this will fly: telling grandparents that their grandchildren should be kidnapped and taken away from the parents and put in a Christian school.

“Pat, I am very concerned because this past weekend my 6-year-old grandson said his dad told him God and Jesus were not real and were just made up to scare people about dying,” a viewer named Elizabeth explained to Robertson in an email.

Elizabeth said that she tried to “explain the truth” to her grandson but he wouldn’t believe her.

“I’m worried for my grandson’s soul,” she wrote.

“You should be,” Robertson agreed. “If there’s any way you can get that child away from that… His father telling him that. I don’t know, but if there’s any way you can get him enrolled in a Christian school or get him into some, you know, they have daily vacation Bible school and things.”

“I can try to buy your grandchildren salvation, but it’s not cheap.
Besides, your atheist kids won’t need whatever pittance you saved up, so if you will it all to me, I will guarantee your grandkids will at least get a hearing with Jesus.”

Judging by all the coverage he is getting you’d think he was on the circus train too

Wow, that’s just evil crazy but then again it’s a senile Pat Robertson.

shitola, i’m just as confused at my post as he’s confused about his assine statement. j.a.

He doesn’t say how grandparents are supposed to put kids in a religious school if the parents don’t want them in the school. Grandparents don’t have any legal standing in the raising of children when both parents are present. Once again, he proves how much of an idiot he is.

That’s right, Pat…get’ em while they’re young and impressionable.
Otherwise, as they mature, they start coming up with logical reasons behind the things that happen, and taking responsibility for their own actions.
    God forbid THAT happens.

The churches love to get a hold of the little ones early. The ‘child care’ room of churches are often little more than ‘bible study’ for pre-school age tykes. Story time means ‘bible stories’ and three year olds are taught to pray.

The Christians love the little children
All the little children of the world
Red and yellow, black or white
We’ll teach them what we think right
Just don’t expect too much if you are a girl.

Pat needs to be put out to pasture.

Forcing religion on people is going to make them hate religion even more, believe me i experienced it! I treat others with respect but i still have a little resentment for religion!

Sure lets brain wash some more kids and scare the heck out of them…why not. Sounds like fun to me.

Sorry, Pat. It’s called “Parents’ Rights”, which means Grandma and Grandpa have no say in a child’s upbringing, other than to make their opinion known. Mom and Dad are the authority in all matters of Junior’s education, religious and otherwise.

Good luck trying to convince a judge to take away custody rights with your “Because they don’t pray to JAY-ZUSS!!” rationale.

Actually I did just that today. I took my eight year old granddaughter away from her heathen mother. We ate breakfast at a restaurant, visited a waterfall, and an animal shelter (she wanted to take all the cats home). We cruised the Mall, saw a movie, (Pixels). got a sandwich and a peanut butter cookie. She told me all about camping, her trip to a water park and how she is looking forward to school. We rode our bicycles around and I showed her a building her father helped construct. She asked me if I was still sad about my dog, and when I said yes, she said “you’ll see her in heaven”. Then I took her home to her loving parents.
Her parents don’t go to church, and she’s a normal, happy, healthy, straight A student. I’ve seen her give her balloon to a crying child whose balloon had floated away. All without hesitation, regret or expectation of another balloon. She is growing into a beautiful, warm, compassionate human. All without threats of suffering indescribable agony for eternity.
    Imagine that?

We would all be so much happier if our parents would let us decide which (if any) religion to follow on our own. Most parents don’t force their children to choose a career, so why force them to go to a church? Some would choose a religion on their own when they get older, and for some, that choice would be “none of the above.” At least they would not end up resenting it, as a lot of us (including me) did.

    Note:

In the Bible, words having to do with killing significantly outnumber words having to do with love.
