Now if only they’d drop the ban on Atheists and Agnostics. The BSA is NOT a religious organization, thought they try to imply they are (when they want to be), so wise up guys.

Better they get with the program. Telling an Atheist to claim to be religious is dishonest. Some may do it, some won’t.

Every meeting I ever attended opened with a prayer and in my handbooks and a couple really old ones I own are statements that refer to a deity. I would not say it was a religious organization, but there was an acknowledgement of a higher being.
I think if an atheist or agnostic wanted to join, they could (especially if it is “NOT a religious organization.” I think the others would pretty much leave them alone about it the way people do in real life.

55 years ago my scout leader was gay…so what …we knew and didn’t care….this is from a community that in 1950 it was illegal for men to wear bermuda shorts
