A Michigan state lawmaker is refusing to resign after he sent an
email in which he falsely claimed to have had sex with a male
prostitute, allegedly in order to cover up an affair with a woman.
Michigan state Rep. Todd Courser now says he sent the email because he was being blackmailed.
Courser, a married father of four, and Gamrat, a married mother of
three, haven’t denied the affair. In the recording, he apologizes to and
asks for forgiveness from his family and Gamrat and her family,
specifically her husband.

Hello there.
I got a question for anyone who may have an idea about blogging.
I’ve been planning on starting my own blog, but the title I wanted to use is reserved on Word Press, so instead of coming up with a new name, I wanted to use a service where I could use the name I wanted.
It’s available on Blogger, but I’m not sure if it’s that great a choice… like if I have dreams of the world fawning over my idiocy, would Blogger be a service that it could happen with?
Does it really matter which (free blog) service I use?
(I just want to be sure to be able to use Disqus for my comments.)
(It’s entirely possible I may decide screw it and just set up the Blogger blog before I read any responses here. :shrug:)

I wouldn’t use a WordPress.com or Blogger site. I have a Little FON on blogger for when the traffic gets too heavy.

You can use a really cheap server and start a WordPress blog and have your own URL. That’s what I did until we started getting too much traffic for that service.
The WordPress.com sites don’t really give you your own URL and if your site takes off, ads would be a big issue. I can’t stand ads but I have to have them in order to pay for the upkeep of running our site

Hmm… the ‘free’ part is of high importance currently, so I may go with Blogger for now.
Since I have a G+ profile and am using Chrome, I’m already signed in when I open Blogger.
But then, if it gets traffic and ad dollars, I can either move to using WP.org and a cheap server.
Or just get a domain name and hook it up with the existing Bloger blog.
But that also depends on if it’s a decent enough service for what I want.
I don’t know… I need to stop yammering and take Shia’s advice and JUST. DO. IT.

Well, I abandoned Blogger and started a WordPress(.com) blog.
Or, I’ve started working on figuring it all out.
The biggest problem I have so far is having issues getting Disqus to work with it… and if it even will.
Apparently the installation instructions on Disqus are for “self-hosted” WP blogs.

Honestly, my biggest requirement is that I’m able to integrate Disqus into my comments.
The rest can be sussed out as needed.
(Also, “Pictures Of You” just started playing on the music channel I have on. Just wanted to comment on that because it’s an awesome dong/band/era.)
