Woman Jailed After Saying Jesus Would Pay Her Restaurant Bill

Posted by | July 16, 2015 16:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Religion

The South Carolina woman said she didn’t have to pay because Jesus would.

April Lee Yates, 51, had been at Bennetts Calabash for almost four hours, according to the police report. Shortly after 9 p.m., the restaurant called law enforcement after Yates caused a disturbance involving other patrons, according to WBTW.

Management asked Yates to pay her $26 bill and leave, but she refused to do so. An officer asked  her if she had money to pay, and Yates replied she did not.

Responding to the officer’s next question of what she planned to do with the bill, Yates insisted “Jesus” would pay.

Police arrested Yates on a charge of defrauding a restaurant and she was jailed.

If I promptly become a “godly, traditional values, family values, real Tea Party patriotic conservative”, will Jesus pay my restaurant bills? Well…will Moses? Mohammed? Buddha? (Mike Huckabee???)

seeing she’s a “christian” and all, one of the 83% (who steals) you’d think that in that restaurant they’d at least have another one in there to help her out. man, “christians” are tight with their money. shameful.

As a restaurant manager, I do not accept that form of payment. Cash, check or credit card and no Jesus I Owe You’s.

What’s this? Jesus stiffed the restaurant? Why would he do such a thing? And here I thought he was such a nice guy!
