Bernie Sanders Rips Jeb Bush A New One For Saying Americans Need To Work More Hours

You may recall that earlier this week GOP Presidential candidate Jeb Bush got into hot water when he suggested that in order for the American economy to grow and expand properly, American workers needed to work longer hours. Bush said:

My aspiration for the country and I believe we can achieve it, is 4 percent growth as far as the eye can see. Which means we have to be a lot more productive, workforce participation has to rise from its all-time modern lows. It means that people need to work longer hours and, through their productivity, gain more income for their families. That’s the only way we’re going to get out of this rut that we’re in.

My one personal ambition for the country is that we never ever ever elect another member of the Bush family. But I digress….READ MORE at  LiberalAmerica.org

You have to read his comments at the linked site. He’s right on target. Bush wants the days of the Robber Barons back, with endless workdays for the masses, and endless profits for the owners.

They want the days of the Titanic back with the rich and the poor and nothing in between!

      • Larry Schmitt July 11th, 2015 at 17:47

And the poor were stuck in steerage with no life boats and liked it.

On the Titanic there definitely was something between the Rich upper deck and the Poor lower berths. Locked gates so the poor couldn’t even get out on deck to see the rich in the life boats floating away.

No Jeb, no republicans, I will not be a serf for your rich buddies and be happy working longer hours for less pay just so the rich can get more enriched!

    • Larry Schmitt July 11th, 2015 at 17:46

That’s the thing, trickle down means one thing to republicans, and something else again to democrats.

Bernie Sanders should be criticized for espousing economic equality, whether or not Bush’s solution is viable is irrelevant

Work, a sure fire money making scheme. That is of course unless you are a liberal who espouses more and more government handouts. Hey I have a plan, let’s stop letting low skilled people come into the country illegally and the jobs they now take will become available for actual American citizens who are now on the dole. And at the same time we should end all government payments to people whomare able to work. Our new national motto should be: “If you don’t work, you don’t eat”.

who do you think are hiring illegals you idiot? republiklans, conservative, “chrisitan” politicians, who are also business owners. housekeeping, lawn care services, hotel staff in the kitchen, nannies, and the list goes on. why? because these cheap ass bastards don’t want to pay fair wages to American citizens, when they know they can pay only a few pennies an hr. to the desperate, because they have no cause to complain. outside of that, there are plenty of Americans working 2 or 3 jobs trying to make ends meet. and our new national motto should be: if you claim to be a christian, you don’t get to bitch about helping the poor. furthermore, i guess you’re including anyone that suffers from PTSD as you don’t believe that’s a real disorder huh? i guess if you 75 and can still get up in the morning without the aide of hospice, then you don’t receive your s.s. and should continue working. fk’n asswipe.

Talk to your friend, Ronald Reagan. He’s the one that decriminalized the hiring of undocumented immigrants.

A large part of it is mindset. Those that fire or hire weather big or small tend to but not always, treat the bulk of people involved as no more than ” hired help ”. Business reaps the benefits of an ”abstract” while labor pays the ”real” price. The farther up, sociopathic tendency the farther down the variant costs of humanity. The highest form of efficiency in economic situations is not exploitation but balance and equality, freedom with morals.
