O’Malley Does The Right Thing: Defends Sanctuary Cities In Spanish

Posted by | July 10, 2015 20:00 | Filed under: Good News Politics

Presidential candidate Martin O’Malley is taking a more progressive stance on immigration that Hillary Clinton. What O’Malley recognizes is that it’s not the place of local authorities to do the job of the feds. They’re the ones constitutionally responsible for enforcing immigration law.

“It’s lamentable that the senseless and tragic act of violence that occurred in San Francisco is prompting a rush to judgment and finger pointing: we can and should do better,” O’Malley said in the statement.

“Local governments should not be blamed for the Federal Government’s inability to fix our broken immigration system nor should they be held responsible for doing the Federal Government’s job,” he added.

You are pandering to the teabaggers and pandering to the left….try being yourself.

Wow! You have me totally confused! How can one statement simultaneously pander to both the Teabaggers and the left?

A “progressive” stance on “immigration” would be to recognize we are at war with the Mexican govt and their partners the drug cartels. And we are loosing. If he were a true progressive he’d admit we’ve created a Gangsta-culture paradise for thousands of Mexican and Central Americans criminals like Sanchez who game the system. He’d be honest about how our govt refuses to actually control the drug and gun markets through regulation. Of course I believe at one time, almost 100 years ago, “progressives” were big promoters of Prohibition and more recently the Drug War itself.

Many have business, when’s the last time you’ve been to Washington State, up and down the highway it’s full of Mexican business.

      • mcalleyboy July 11th, 2015 at 05:02

Many Mexican business up and down highways, they open up convenience or gas stores, Washington State is a prime example or better known as Tijuana North.

and so what? that’s a bad thing that they have businesses. i guess if they are cutting your lawn that would be a different story. damn Mexicans, coming accross our borders to better their lives and have to audacity to do that and doing it legally to boot. paying taxes. pftt.

Legally? And are you aware that illegal aliens and immigrants live better than you… They create a very nice homes, nothing like in the US, tiled, concrete and more like palaces, when they get their retirement check or business making money well they’re done with us. Think about how some live in the US, I know I’ve been south of the border and now live overseas, we need to shore up our borders and stop giving them citizenship, sure let them make money but don’t give them pensions or benefits. My home cost me $20,000 but it’s worth at least a half million dollars stateside.

Careful allot of hostility from progressives and liberals I can feel the hate and blame game, they never address the real problem and that’s Mexico. Trump has it right, make them build the “Wall of Mexico Border” or tax the heck out of that dirty crowd, tax their vegetable and fruit business or better known as money laundering spots.

      • greenfloyd July 11th, 2015 at 05:15

They don’t know better, I forgive them and try to educate them. Some I learn from. I think the main problem between US, Mexico and Central America is the Drug War, economic and social injustice and the need for radical redistribution of wealth. I don’t want a “wall” of any kind, but without mutual cooperation an open border is a pipe dream.

That’s a lame response, State politicians and law enforcement need to protect Americans from habitual criminals, immigration law breakers, we need to do something about our borders now, I’m sure law enforcement is overwhelmed though with illegal immigrants and lets not forget those SE Asian Visa overstayers, what about them, they need to pay up or get deported.
