Fischer: Gay Marriage Means ‘It Will Be Against The Law For Christians To Hold Public Office’
You see, first you give gays the right to marry, and the next thing you know, Christians can’t be elected to anything. Make perfect sense, right?
“You may think that I am exaggerating, that I am hyperbolizing,” Fischer declared, “I assure you, ladies and gentlemen, that I am not, that this is the direction that we are headed … It is, before long, going to become illegal for Christians to hold public office.”
“The day is coming when it will be against the law for Christians to hold public office,” he continued. “It will be against the law for Christians to even run for public office [and Christians] will not be allowed to serve in any kind of appointed capacity in government.”
“Now why do I say that?” Fischer asked. “I say that because of what the Supreme Court did on Friday” by legalizing gay marriage.

Years ago, JFK had to defend himself against the charges that a Catholic president who be beholden to Rome rather than the constitution. He fought that back by declaring he would be the president of all Americans and would not let his personal religious beliefs influence his obligation to be president of all.
In my opinion,an evangelical Christian must not ever just represent his own Christian constituency, and if he or she can’t do that, then NO, they shouldn’t serve in public office. If that seems offensive to some folks, I must remind them that until such time as the US becomes a theocracy, elected representatives must represent all the people in their districts, not just the ones that have similar beliefs.
