MRC’s Gainor: ‘I Was Right To Call Justice Roberts ‘A Scumbag’

Posted by | July 3, 2015 23:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Radio Interviews

The Media Research Center’s Dan Gainor told my radio audience he was correct when he tweeted that Chief Justice John Roberts is ‘a scumbag.”

He also defended previous comments that liberals are coming after Christians like “Brownshirts in the 1930s” and says there’s a “gay mafia” going after Christian businesses.

Gainor: If a guy is basically going to tear the Constitution of the United States in half, yeah, I’m not really going to pull punches on that. The Economist, a very well know publication, came out and said that John Roberts, his statement when he was deciding for King vs Burwell, then conflicted 100 percent with what he said the very next day. He’s a Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. We at least have a right.

COLMES: You have a right to disagree with him and you have a right to use whatever language you want.

GAINOR: He has a right to at least obey the law.

COLMES: But I think you diminish yourself and your argument when you use language like that in a public forum like Twitter.

GAINOR: I think he diminishes himself and the Constitution when he actually doesn’t even agree with himself within a 24 hour period

The right has reduced themselves into a seething mess of irrelevence. Shame on them and shame on fox slop for giving them a voice.

    • Red Mann July 3rd, 2015 at 23:16

There’s money to be made selling lies, hate and fear to frightened old white men.

      • tracey marie July 3rd, 2015 at 23:19

I have never heard such filth on a “news” channel until Obama ran for President.

        • Mike July 3rd, 2015 at 23:37

Truer words have not been spoken.

        • Red Mann July 3rd, 2015 at 23:47

The underlying problem for the right is “There’s a Ni**er in the WHITEhouse!!!111” Since they can’t scream that out loud like they really want to, he becomes a Muslim, a Marxist, the anti-Christ, a Kenyan or any other damn lie they can think of. It’s dog whistles all the way down.

Alan, why do you insist on interviewing these wingnuts…???
Why would you give them the airtime…???
People like me are your target audience and I’d like to hear you interview some progressives and maybe hear their ideas or plans for the future.
I like your site (hated watching you on Hannity, you let him bully you around) but I rarely listen to your interviews because of all the RWNJ’s you have on. You’re only giving them a platform to spew their insanity.
How many out there agree with me.

    • fahvel July 4th, 2015 at 02:58

agree 100% but it’s show business with a l;left turn. Without the bush fear and the chaney homocides and the looney right wing presidential pile of [poo, what’s left?

A real scumbag calling someone a scumbag… must be talking to the mirror.

    • whatthe46 July 4th, 2015 at 00:41

why is it that those people don’t confuse themselves?

      • fahvel July 4th, 2015 at 02:57

oh, they do. Read or, if you are a masochist, listen to their merde – they are truly truly confused.

        • whatthe46 July 4th, 2015 at 10:06

my eyes bleed when i read, i don’t need my ears to bleed as well. no thank you very much.

Dan Gainor needs to accept the fact that he is not always going to get his way…
And throwing a temper tantrum when he doesn’t just makes him look childish.

The Gay Mafia – the Mafia with style, flair, taste, show tunes…

    • Anomaly 100 July 4th, 2015 at 06:38

He makes it sound so interesting. I want to get all gayed up for the gay mafia now.

    • Warman1138 July 4th, 2015 at 08:01

You left out temperament, tolerance, intelligence and business sense.

      • bpollen July 4th, 2015 at 14:34

The business sense is somewhat debatable. Remember the gay hotel owners who hosted a Ted Cruz event? Anti-gay Ted Cruz? PR disaster!

        • Warman1138 July 4th, 2015 at 18:18

I was going by personal experience, many of the gay people I know own their own businesses.

          • bpollen July 4th, 2015 at 18:23

I don’t disagree… I just think that sexual orientation doesn’t keep ya from being stupid. I’ve also known gays (geeks usually) who have NO fashion sense. Damn, I guess they are human!

    • CandideThirtythree July 5th, 2015 at 10:16

      hahahaha!

Imagine what the world be like if Gore won. Iraq war would have never been, OBL would have been a confined hunting expedition. The banking collapse and recession would have been handled better.
It would be so such more better than the war torn scorched earth of Busch

  7. Warman1138 July 4th, 2015 at 08:22

” Media Research Center ” . It’s like they’re some kind of mutant reverse Nazis or something out of science fiction just come back from hiding on the moon………weird.

    • Larry Schmitt July 4th, 2015 at 08:55

All these ultra conservative lobbying groups (that’s all they are, really) give themselves such innocuous names: Family Research Council, etc. In reality there is no research going on. They exist only to espouse their narrow points of view, and try to shut up anyone who disagrees with them.

      • Warman1138 July 4th, 2015 at 09:15

So very true, it’s like they’re channeling Goebbels.

      • Jeb ==The Mexican Impregnator July 4th, 2015 at 09:43

And the enjoy same 501c tax protection that the Clinton Foundation gets.

  8. allison1050 July 4th, 2015 at 09:39

They all hate Justice Roberts now up and until he takes a side that they agree with which has been quite a bit of his tenure and then they love him.

  9. Jeb ==The Mexican Impregnator July 4th, 2015 at 09:42

These sore losers whining over SCOTUS rulings remind me of dying babies in a hot car in a dirty diaper .

  10. arc99 July 4th, 2015 at 10:39

But right wingers get their panties in a bunch over George Takei’s comments about Clarence Thomas.

It is getting to the point where being an unapologetic hypocrite is a badge of honor among right wingers.

Actually, Ian Millhiser wrote, “Obergefell v. Hodges, in other words, is a double defeat for conservatives. At the same moment that a majority of the Court declared the United States to be a marriage equality nation, Chief Justice Roberts announced to his fellow conservatives that their most ambitious legal cases are doomed to failure.”

He goes on to say that the Scalia crowd (Federalist society etc), who worships the Lochner decision, (basically, ‘presumption of liberty’ [for corporations over people] of the sort the Court seemed to employ in Lochner v New York 1905”, has lost.
“The significance of Roberts’s Obergefell dissent was not lost on Professor Barnett. In an angry blog post directed at Republican presidential candidates, Barnett cited King and the fact that Roberts “cited Lochner v. New York 16 times” before urging his fellow conservatives to “learn from the recent past what not to look for in a justice.”
